my only complaint is the unrealistic gun battles. why waste you ammo shooting for the sake of replying to the other shooter?

I decided to give this one a go. First season was really enjoyable, currently on season 2.

The only thing so far, that I don't like about this show is River Cartwright... that character is annoying and thinks he is better than anybody else. Can't stand him smile.

Hmm..what bad stuff? Don't think I have seen anything in Season 1 that was bad stuff that happened to him.

I wouldn't count the training exercise. Yeah sure Web was partially at fault as well, but he could've confirmed the colours again before focusing on the target.

He broke open that safebox and basically stole classified information.

Sids death...no matter how I look at it, it's his fault. He was working off book when he watched Hobden. That's why Sid was there and followed him into the house.

And everyone else basically had to clean up his mess in Season 1. If it weren't for him no one in Slough House would've been involved in Taverners black op and they wouldn't had to hide and fight to keep their jobs.

Of course, that is what drives the plot, but he definitely isn't the hero of the story.
He is bored with his penance in Slough House and does things he shouldn't. That's why I said he thinks he is better than anybody else.

All caught up now. Season 4 wasn't as good as the other three but still very much enjoyable.
Overall great watch and can't wait for the next season.

River Cartwright is still the number one moron off the show, but I got used to that by now so it doesn't bother me anymore smile

His actions are either stupid or don't make no sense to me.

In Season 2 he immediately suspects the father just because he looked through his stuff - maybe he thought River wanted to make advances toward his daughter? Didn't even consider the daughter or wife. Calls in a Code September without even checking if the bomb material is on the plane. I expect that from a civilian but not a MI5 agent.

In Season 3 he doesn't even consider to inform or ask others for help when he gets the picture of Standish. I could've accepted his behaviour If he weren't sitting in Slough House when he received the call... how would the kidnappers know he told anyone?, did he think they bugged Slough House?

In Season 4...what was his plan by taking the assassins idendity? I don't think him going off-grid helped the story in any meaningful way. He found the picture and connection in France - that could've been accomplished just the same had he involved Slough House. I don't think buying a burner phone is an impossibility for a spy.

My favorite character is Shirley btw.

I really liked the 1st 2 seasons, but it has been sliding downhill a bit since IMO.  If it continues this trend, S5 may be the last one I watch.

Pretty good opener for season 5.  It kept me interested, which is a primary benchmark for me.

I do wish they would make Roddy Ho just a bit more likeable.  Seems unnecessarily obnoxious and confrontational in 5x1, even more than usual for him.

I'm going to wait until the season is complete, but this is unfortunate. I'm getting tired of his attitude. What's sad to me is that Hollywood keeps portraying "computer people" in this manner.
