Re: Features/Improvements Requests

I don't see much value in such distinction.

What would be a good use of this new option?

I can only speak for myself, but as I said in my initial post, I use the "Browse" tab as primary function to search for new shows.
With that in mind and using the filter "Running" you currently have a good chance that the list contains a lot of entries you have already seen a dozen times (and decided not to watch).

But you are right, with filtering "shows that are currently airing episodes" you would still get shows that are already running for years and you don't want to see again in a search like that.

How about this:
A filter to list shows that are currently running/airing in their first season?
This option is available for the Homepage, but only for "Today's / Tomorrow's / Yesterday's lists".
It would remove most of the shows you have probably checked out already and will leave you only with new shows you could directly start watching.
If you have missed them on the "Home" tab you could find them in there.

Shows that deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Company You Keep | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier

That makes sense and it's now added in the Status drop down smile

There is a small bug with that filter, though, because it still shows series that aren't running / are On Hiatus. smile

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

It is not supposed to filter out shows On Hiatus smile

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

Then it's a pointless filter. A show On Hiatus is not "In first season".
Besides, there is already a filter for On Hiatus shows. If I ever wanted to find shows that are on hiatus, I'd use that filter. smile

Upcoming shows are included as well.

It's just to narrow down the list to shows in their first season. I don't see the value in excluding on hiatus or upcoming shows from that list.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

I agree. Keep ones on Hiatus because I might have missed them and can find out about them, here.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

Would it be possible to get the number of current season episodes in parenthesis after the show name on episode list? I like to binge a whole season. This way I wouldn't have to keep clicking on the the shows and then search down for the number of episodes. TY!

As William said, and specifically asked for, it's to "list shows that are currently running/airing in their first season".
Not Upcoming shows, which have their own filter.
Not On Hiatus shows, which have their own filter.

This new filter includes data that's specifically findable via other filters, but does not do what William asked for, which is to filter the shows that are not specifically filterable with any other filter. smile

Just my opinion, but that makes the filter entirely useless.

We don't have the season order often enough for such feature to be reliable ...

Not in their first season smile

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

I don't know if this was suggested before, but having a filter to ignore classifications of shows would be nice.  Would make the "Discover Other Great Shows" section so much better to filter if I didn't have to hit 'X' on 100 reality/cop shows before getting to a show I might actually like.

If with classifications you mean genres, then yes, it was suggested before:

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

Hey guys, two suggestions:

1.)
When you sort the Watchlist by "My Rating" or "User Rating" would it be possible to filter out shows that cannot have a Rating yet since they are status "In Development" or "Upcoming" ?

2.)
For shows that are "In Development" I think it would make sense to have a date on the show page for either when they were added or when the status was updated last?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

It would be nice if the calendar view could highlight season finale episodes.

Use case is, that I want to wait for the whole season to be out before starting to watch the series, and with a lot of series being followed it gets kinda jumbled. Finale being visually distinct would be a quality of life improvement.

It has been discussed a few pages ago. I hope we'll get some feature(s) around "season finale" episodes. smile

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

1) there was an issue where some shows with no ratings were ordered before shows with ratings (when sorted by "user rating"). this is now fixed and both when sorting by user rating and my rating - the shows with no ratings are just at the bottom. I don't see the need to filter them out?

2) if it's "in development" there probably weren't any updates at all. but yeah, having some sort of a date there to indicate at least roughly "since when" it's in development - makes sense. I'll consider it.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

Half Feature request, half report. big_smile

In the trailers section, you say:

If you happen to find a better trailer or with a higher quality - let us know!

I would like to ask you to (an idea, for example) change that "let us know" text to a link to either a place, or instructions on how to actually properly report and let you know. smile

And following that, since I don't know where I should report such a thing, this is a better trailer for Moonrise:

Cool! You could even pre-populate the subject field with "trailer suggestion" oslt. smile

And how about adding something to every* show page without a trailer, https://next-episode.net/verbatim for example, like "Know a trailer? Let us know."? (Where the trailer normally is linked.)

IIRC, we talked about that in the past, but I don't recall your opinion.

*not needed for "never aired" shows though cool

Re: Features/Improvements Requests

Yeah not a fan of cluttering the show details page with text/links for suggesting trailers as I don't believe it'll be used frequently enough to warrant that ...
