A high-octane action comedy about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Totally agree, if a game is story based then fine, just look at The Last of Us.  But Twisted Metal was car game from when, 1995?  Come on, really?

Finished it. It was okay to watch, some fun ideas, but I'm not sure that I will come back for more if it gets renewed...

I actually liked the blend of Mad Max and comedy. Sweet Tooth is my spirit animal, but many other characters were an interesting concept. True, the main characters sort of fall flat for me, but I think of them as catalyzers for the story that reveals decent worldbuilding.

I marathoned this, it was fun and comical and for the most part, the jokes landed.

Of all the things to complain about, for me, the location shooting was hilariously the same stretch of road and parking lot from New San Francisco to New Chicago that didn't really give the sense that he went on a road trip across America.
