2x8

Wow, the first continuity error in this lovely show: the IT shadow guy ...

Spoiler

...puts the book on the table while talking with the wool guys, and suddenly one of the wool guys - who hasn't moved - holds it.

Anyway, still loving this show, and the set design... WOW!

P.S.: Poor Juliette! smile

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

First series was excellent, but this series is dragging everything out, a bit like 'Lost', and the X-Files.

In fact, I got so bored waiting for something interesting to happen, I went on Wikipedia to find out what it's all about. I was so dissapointed. Where are the aliens ffs? smile

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

Can't love them all! smile

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

2x9. Wow, soooo good! <3

Spoiler

I guess "the safeguard" is some evil plan to kill everybody? Looking forward to (hopefully) learn more about The Algorithm!

Wooooooow, what a finale! yikes yikes

Additional info (spoilers!):

Silo will return for seasons 3 and 4, with the fourth season planned as the series finale:

Although Silo will conclude with Season 4, the potential for a spin-off remains. Howey’s new trilogy could inspire an extension of the franchise, introducing fresh characters and conflicts, as suggested by the author’s vision.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

2x01 to 2x08 = So boring. So wrong.

2x09 = Interesting twist.

2x10 = Not in the book. Makes no sense.  Not the ending of Wool at all.

...what are they doing with this show???

Wizard, can you share some theories, is this that fan fic you were talking about?

Made it great? big_smile

I haven't (and won't) read the books, I just enjoy what we have here.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

@Lighton - What gets tedious and loses the audience is when they have more inciting incidents and mysteries than resolutions and answers, and don't pace the show with enough up beats to match the down beats like 201-208, or fail to develop characters to make the journey worth the watch.  A lot of people checked out of Silo in season 2, look no further than this forum.

...we stuck with it, yay! ...meh...

Not a clue.  It's in none of the books I have read.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

I recently finished watching Season 2 of "The Silo" and felt it ended the way it should have begun, where Juliette gets back to her Silo to educate her people about what is really going on. It seemed like the writers wasted the entire season on silly silo politics and Juliette getting bogged down with the negativity of the new people she meets in the new Silo. The writers could have just as easily written the new characters as being cooperative and willing to explore the world outside or work to get food production back on track to support more people. This plotline would have been inspirational and uplifting. Instead, except for the last episode, the entire season was negative. What a waste of a potentially exciting story line.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

Silo season 3 does not yet have a release date but we're guessing it could be released in mid-2026.

That's based on the gap between seasons 1 and 2 being released, which was a year and six months. If this timeline continues, we'll be looking at around May 2026 for season 3.

In December 2024, Apple TV+ officially confirmed that Silo had been renewed for seasons 3 and 4.

So...

Spoiler

It's safe outside, but not safe because of the failsafe system?

Spoiler

It's not safe outside (according to the books) because there are nano-bots that will kill you.

Thanks for letting me know. Do you like what they did with Silo season 2?
Maybe they'll change the story so they can live outside the silo?  Who knows.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

So far I am enjoying it.   It's been a long time since I read the books (and fan-fiction) so I may re-read them soon.
I don't think they will live outside...

Spoiler

within the area of the silos, but outside that maybe

Two changes that I didn't overly like was...

Spoiler

The tunnel at the bottom of the silo was meant to be a starting point for the generator to keep digging  upwards to lead them outside.

The poison tube wasn't in the books either I don't think.

Starting point for the generator to keep digging? A generator that's digging? I can't follow, please elaborate.

Note, I can get mixed up with the actual books, or the fanfiction, there was a lot of it and a long time ago.

Spoiler

In the book there was a generator that powered the digger that dug the hole they are currently living in.  That generator was then taken off the digger and used to run the power for the silo.

The intention was that since the generator was being kept up and running over 100's of years (or however long) that once they are ready, they can disconnect it and put it back onto a smaller digger to get out.

It's a bit hazy, but I think there were two generators (large and small) and I can't remember why that was.  It was the small one that was to help them escape.

The reason they can't just leave out of the "front door" as it were is...

Spoiler

...because as I said before, it's not safe outside because there are nano-bots that will kill you.
However those nano-bots are only within the sphere of all the 51 silos and outside that it's fine.

The bottom tunnel was meant to lead them up slowly and away from the this nano-bot kill zone.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]

Finally watched Episode 10. Overall I enjoyed the whole Season and the last Episode.

From what I've read here the books are probably even better than the show so maybe I will read them after the final season (too often have I made the mistake of starting to read the books between seasons - e.g. "A Song of Ice and Fire" - which is a very BIG mistake smile )

Some things could've certainly been handled better. The pacing especially but also the switching between the two places. The amount of cliffhangers is crazy smile

While Juliette is still my favorite character, Jimmy comes in as close second, great character.

Spoiler

The only thing that really bothered me with this season is the time required to walk up and down the stairs. In Season 1 it took them hours or even days if I remember correctly.
Now they can reach the correct level in the time the stories needs them to reach it....

What bothered me with the episode...

Storywise the return of Juliette was handled properly...but how they displayed it was absolutely terrible. The director should be fired over this....
This was the moment we were waiting for the entire season and than they don't do it properly...damn.

- Something like this should've happened in the last possible moment, like in the good old movies where the bomb has to count down to 00:01 before it gets disarmed...but here it just "happened"...no dramatic effect whatsoever.
- Someone should've noticed it but gets beaten down before he can tell everyone. Only with her being closer all of them should've realized.
- We didn't even get to see peoples reaction to the "not safe outside" sign she held up, only Bernards... you show peoples relief and happiness for the person you love returning and then the terror of the truth...

I knew it was going to be the PEZ dispenser, but still liked the final scene... smile

...but if this is going to turn out that the Silos are some sort of experiment or prison and that somewhere outside or in space people live perfectly normal lives and are observing them or something like that I am going to vomit...
I mean that's bascially the same story the Divergence and Maze Runner (experiment) or Attack on Titan (prison) has....

Shows that deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Company You Keep | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier
