A retired man gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.

Three episodes in and loving it. The first 10-14 minutes of the Episode 01 left me feeling absolutely nothing, could've just as easily watched a turned off screen - almost about to quit - but after that threshold the show really kicks off and it's been very good so far.

When i read about that show it instantly got me thinking about the show Bored to Death that he also was in, which was really good. So i can imagine this could also be good.

I loved it! I binged the whole thing last night. I loved seeing all the old actors and actresses from decades ago. It was funny, touching and a mystery.

At Episode 07 so far. Perfect combo of funny and wholesome.

I think it's safe to say this is the best new comedy in 2024 smile

Agreed. In the end this became my favorite show of 2024, surpassing The Penguin, Fallout and everything else.

Whatever the ratings this one stands out.
Absolutely wonderful.
The script is fantastic (higher a writer ,advice for anyone making a tv show) casting is great, no exploding monkeys no alternate reality, just a great story. If you don't like this watch Dr. Phil.

Wow, this show seems to be getting a lot of love.  I thought it was just ok, nothing special.

I agree with Lighton on this one.

If I ever watch this I will let you know what I think. I know my fans need to be updated that someday I might have an opinion.

Check out "The Good Place".

I have actually watched both shows and they are both great

Halfway through the second season.

The humour is still spot on and enjoyable. But I have to say, the emotional depth of the first season is missing.
In S1 there were some great conversations and monologues Charles had which made this show stand out from other comedies. They had some opportunities here as well, but I couldn't feel the same depth...

First episode felt also very rushed and missed a lot of opportunities.

So far we didn't even get to see Charles give one lecture or bond with the students? They skipped the entire first week of investigation.

Nevertheless new and old characters are all great, story is good.

Had high hopes for this show based on this thread. "The Good Place? Sign me up!"

Gave up after 2 eps.

Like watching paint dry.

The target market for this show would have to be 70-year old biddies.

I enjoyed the first series watched the first episode of s2 and something was missing so haven't bothered with the remainder of S2.

Just finished the second season....

This was my No. 1 show last year, I loved every second of S01. Midway through S02 I even started watching S01 because I needed a reminder of how good it was...

I don't think I have ever been this disappointed by a second season in my life. I don't know what happened here, how did they fumble this so badly...

Still hoping for a Season 3 to see if they can bring back the magic sad
