Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Land Man is a modern day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it's reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.

First two episodes were indeed very interesting. Will definitely keep watching this one for now.

To best describe the show so far I would say "Made in America" but in a good way. Great characters and great setting. Although very surprising since it basically shows the oil industry in a good light which is, ab best, controversial the last couple of years.

Billy Bob Thornton is perfect for the role he plays. Jon Hamm as well.

Spoiler

In Episode 01, what the daughter said to her father after he asked if she practices safe s3x...if that were me, the boyfriend would not have had the option to break up with her afterwards, he would've been broken already smile.

Re: Landman

Solid performances for sure, and some interesting plot twists in only 4 episodes. Liking what I see.

I used to trust IMDB ratings. I no longer do. Most of the ratings of 6 and up, when I watched the movie, deserved maybe a 2 or 3.

It is especially bad when they get the crew who made the movie to leave positive reviews. Which has been done before.

Surely if you're interested in the subject matter then you'll watch and if not you won't?
Ratings mean shit!! Everything is subjective.

I agree with ratings in the middle, those movies and shows can always go either way, but how about a movie or tv show with an imdb rating of 0-3? Can you say the same for those? I tried many before and those ratings were always pretty accurate.

Same goes for ratings of 7-10. Sure in those cases it still depends if it's a type of movie you like in general (like musicals, you really have to be into those to enjoy them) - but even if you don't like the type of movie or show, in general the overall quality looks also accurate to the rating.
