Time Bandits is a dark, irreverent adventure about imagination, bravery and the nature of our dreams. It follows the time-traveling adventures of an 11-year-old history buff named Kevin who, one night, stumbles on six dwarfs who emerge from his closet. They are former workers of the Supreme Being who have stolen a map that charts all the holes in the space-time fabric, using it to hop from one historical era to the next in order to steal riches. Throughout they meet various historical and fictional characters, including Napoleon Bonaparte and Robin Hood, while the Supreme Being simultaneously tries to catch up to them and retrieve the map.
Wow, after watching the trailer I can fully understand why Terry Gilliam got up and walked out. Ugh, I see Taika Waititi has ruined another fond memory from my child hood. I still haven't forgiven him for cutting the nuts off, I mean emasculating Thor. This looks incredibly cringe from Kudro's stiff as a board girl boss attempt to no actual little people anymore thanks to Peter Dinklage shaming any production company that uses little people as dwarves. No surprise that Apple has disabled comments on the YT trailer. This looks to be as bad as the Snow White bad reboot.

Tailer really does look bad. But Lisa Kudrow is in the show, so even if not a faithful / good adaption, I will give it a shot even just for the chance of a decent laugh.

Those little people are not Time Bandits, they work for the agency. Orig movie had little people as Time Bandits. Also I should clarify Dinklage's quote which wasn't so much "don't hire little people", it was more like "stop using little people in traditional fairy tale dwarf roles" to paraphrase. Either way I don't care for Taika Waititi and how he loves to punish fans of beloved ip's by making changes he knows will enflame fans and then bragging about it. YOMV

And a decent laugh it was, at least the first episode.
Since that was the only prerequisite I had for this show, I was not diasspointed.
Not just Lisa Kudrow but all characters are funny so far. I don't know the original or if it is a faithful adaption, but if you are looking for humor it's worth a try.

I'm a big fan of the original, but I just have a feeling this is going to be very different. The original has a certain very early 80's British vibe about it, like alot of the TV shows I watched when I was a young kid back in the those days. We'll see.

I think time is actually the problem here... When the original Time Bandits came out it was a strange subversive film with odd humor. However nowadays much of the weirdness it lived in has become pretty standard stuff. As a result, so far, it's been pretty boring stuff. On top of which, I'm slightly disappointed in the casting... I mean we don't need the same choices as the movie but who we do have doesn't feel special enough for what I was hoping for from this series. Speaking of which, the story had just been meeeh... with Monty Python, by way of Doctor Who, humor [annnnnd not in a good way] which feel more at home in the 1970s & 1980s rather than the 2020s. Maybe it's not for me, maybe it's just the 7-to-12-year-old me that would find it to be fantastic?! Or maybe it'll get better!?

Watched the first. It was a bit cringe but not near as cringe as Waititi's marvel stuff or WWDITS. I'll stick around for another at least. Kudro's good in it and i guess the kid is good since he's supposed to be really annoying.

Episode 3 was kinda boring...nothing really happened in this one.
Episode 4 on the other hand was worthy of a good laugh. Kevin is starting to feel a bit obnoxious. ▼Spoiler Only good thing about EP03 was the sister, retracing her brothers steps and getting along with everyone she meets without understanding them...they made it work well.

Episode 5 was good and Episode 6 is the best so far. ▼Spoiler Really liked the duel scene in EP05 and Casanova not having an effect on Judy. Only wished they made Penelope faint so the impact of Judy not fainting would've been even greater. In EP06 the planning of the heist scene is just the best. With Kevin putting everyone to sleep and Penelope doing cartwheels. The execution then gave me the proper rofl.

Enough nostalgia from the original film and fresh writing/directing that really appeals to me.

Just finished. Great ending to a great season ! Already excited for a possible Season 2. In the meantime I am gonna go watch the original film. ▼Spoiler I just hope that Judy is coming back, kinda expected her to pop back up in the finale. Shows that deserved more runtime:

Ugh, hope they can clear up their behind-the-scenes issues and that it doesn't affect a possible Season 2.
For me, the story comes first. If the actress has to be replaced for that, that's OK with me.
