Re: House of the Dragon [Game of Thrones Prequel Series]

Highpoint of the show:  Matt Smith's armor.

I'd make that for cosplay as an alternative to my Halo armor.  Do conventions one day in Halo, one day in Targaryen.

Update:
Found the armor files.  Yeah, I think I gotta.

Judging by the last episode, it definitely is big_smile big_smile
Though I still find it weird that people are 100% okay with

Spoiler

a decapitated child's head being sown back on, but some fake dick action is what makes the show juicy somehow?

Overall I don't feel as invested in this as I did for the original show. It's probably a mix of me not having read the books and this being a prequel takes away some of the excitement as well. And I know it's the grittiness of GRRM in play here, but there's really no character to root for. I mean they try with Rhaenyra, but everyone is so awful.

But it's still a lot better than latter seasons of GoT and I made it through those and there's nothing else in my Monday slot anyway big_smile

I keep on wondering where his sonic screw driver is. It must be tucked away some where?

I'm out... just too boring and there is not a single character which caries the show. No one.

GoT at least had a great cast and characters the audience cares for. Nothing here. I can't most of the time even say who is who and why they are talking/fighting/fucking/whatever.

I get lost with all the names who they are

After wanting to see a fight with dragons for a long time I feel like it is okay not to see it that often big_smile

I agree. They finally had some action. I had to re watch the fist few episodes again so I could catch all the sub plots. It is finally getting some traction.

I hope they keep the flow of action going in the remaining episodes from now on.

Ok, I did bite when I read z1rra's comment. Tried to stay awake through the episode hoping I will be rewarded. And... na... even that was utterly disappointing.

forceing myself through the episode just reconfirmed my thought that the biggest issue with HoD is that I couldn't give a .... on any of the characters or what is happening. The general writing is bad, the characters are weak, the cast and their performance pathetic.

Clearly shows the screenwriters lack talent to develop the scraps and few leads, pointers and names from the books into a convincing story arc and develop strong character leads.

And probably all decent TV show actors read the manuscript and said "na, let's better go and do another crime procedural, family drama or coming of age comedy.

Re: House of the Dragon [Game of Thrones Prequel Series]

This feels like a random horrible TLC show where everything is despicable but you just watch because you hope it gets better. And then it never does. You get occasional glimpses of greatness in characters but they're buried deep within their past often horrendous mistakes.

I still get the appeal of this but I seriously think that it's mostly "look who can fall even lower next episode" sort of thing.

2x7:

I totally loved the last third of this episode, making it perhaps the best episode of the show (for me)!

And not only because they spent a big portion of the show's CGI budget here. big_smile

are we going to see one-eye get his come uppance? I doubt it. I havent watched esp 8 yet but I bet it fizzles out rather than a collosal dragon battle

Spot on. Not a bad episode but a tad limp as a season finale.

Yes, but might be on par with later seasons.
