Cool. A diversity of views creates a richer forum, annnnnd it's fun to question merc when he's drunk posting nonsense. Also, listen to Lighton, don't edit my name out of your quotes because I always want everything to be about me. jokes

seems like when I am "drunk" I speak more sense when others here are sober.... The test of a good show is whether you can watch it more than once. eg Agents of Shield, The Boys, Buffy The Vampire Slayer to name just a few. Constellation is not one of them. Strictly a watch once then discard

Why does a re-watchable show have to be good, and why does a one-and-done have to be bad? People can re-watch Agents of Shield, The Boys, & Buffy, it doesn't make them good shows, just good to you. (Christophe Beck's score for Buffy is beautiful though.) You can also watch the best shows ever made, just once, and never feel the need to re-watch them (Succession, Breaking Bad). Re-watchability is all about how it captures your imagination and makes you want to relive the experience, but not a clear indicator of quality programming. Also, fantasy fiction shows aren't a good comparison to a scifi show like Constellation, perhaps From the Earth to the Moon, For All Mankind, Man in the High Castle, 11.22.63, or The Expanse, are more in the wheelhouse, but I prefer the story/performances/production of Constellation more than any of them. Constellation is a bit of a mix between From the Earth to the Moon or Gravity (Classic Space Travel) and Man in the High Castle (Parallel Universes) just, set in Europe. S1, 7/10. *I added the "hic!" to your quote, for comedic purposes.

It's only a strange interpretation because it's not your interpretation. I'm with paisley1 here. I hardly ever rewatch anything. You probably like the familiarity of rewatching something a lot more than we do.

lolz They are not the best because I feel no need to rewatch them, they are the best because of the calibre and quality of all factors of their production. I could ask you why Breaking Bad and Succession won best Drama at the Emmy's and why Agents of Shield, The Boys, and Buffy didn't, and you might also find it strange that a jury of their peers would consider them inferior, and that they happen to be stories that you don't ever need to go back and watch again, and that quality has nothing to do with rewatchability. I'm not saying that's Constellation, it's just an engaging scifi mystery, but most mysteries aren't very rewatchable because once the mystery is revealed there's no need.

I dumped that show 3 episodes in, I like continuity, Same with Person of interest, great show but the back and forth ruined it for me. They had so much material from the past they could have started with that and then led us into the present. I do not like being treated like a yo-yo.

but then there would not have been a show, it trades on confusing the viewer, creating complexity to make up for once you get it the show is over

i like that word How would any of you describe a "Jumbo Jet", is it a - simple - complicated - complex - or chaotic machine/system? the right answer is: (dont peek - answer it first, and guessing is no fun )
▼Spoiler complicated Do you wonder why? That is a rather "simple" answer
▼Spoiler ... But so many articles dont explain it well or simple In essence complex systems always have one or more chaotic element(s) and are therefore not fully understandable/predictable. Complicated systems are not simple but fully know and fully predictable (Plane: Every function and piece of a plane is engineered, fully understood and fully predictable - all chaotic elements like wear & tear are fully covered by long experience and statistics, which determine the lifecycle and testing of parts, so no chaotic elements remain) So even rockets and the ISS are rather complicated, but should not be complex - and if a the ISS has a complex system it would be known and closely monitored with a very high risk assessment Human behavior or advanced biological systems like mammals are always at least complex (yeah thats us!) this one is not bad: https://noop.nl/2008/08/simple-vs-compl … aotic.html not bad but not good either: https://txm.com/making-sense-problems-c … framework/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cynefin_framework

Too much work. Tv for me is an escape. If I wish to learn things I watch Documentaries, Historical, Scientific. But at night I just want to turn off my brain and chill. It works for me. Some people want to get more involved, with multiple sub plots etc. Thats fine as well. And I guessed wrong.

Re: Constellation [Scifi, Drama, AppleTV+]
I did get quite annoyed with this storyline. Too much was focused on the woman and the girl and not enough on the other characters. It just looked like the writers were looking for a way to end this series as fast as possible.

Finally finished the final episode. Not one of my favorite episodes, but an interesting way to end a great show.
