Re: Halo [Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi]

\Rant begin
Season 2 episode 03 was terrible, I hope it gets better in ep 04, if not, I'm not going to bother with ep 05 and on.
I need my scifi fix. I'm tired of re-watching old stuff.

I want sci-fi action and suspense, not this namby-pamby shit.

The current stock of writers, producers and decision makers in Hollywood need to go do something else, mostly everything in tv/film after 2016 or thereabouts is dogshit, with a few exceptions.

/Rant over

Re: Halo [Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi]

I've enjoyed lots of shows that came out after 2016, and while this show isn't perfect, I enjoy it enough to continue watching. smile

oh I rather liked eps 3 - with all the walls closing in on the human world and also "Chief"

ep04... walls ... closed neutral yikes neutral
sadly yet another rather mediocre ep - not good - not bad

Spoiler

lots of action, possibly good action, but was the amount necessary? And normally i get hooked by good action and good doomsday dramaturgy - i was definitely hooked in S1, rather strong actually! But here? Almost nothing yikes

Wonder if the season will recover, but - well, season 3 is very probable, so hope is still there smile
I can't put the finger on what went wrong with writing/directing so far... any ideas?

They have made the world/setting grey, both sides has pros and cons, there is no good or evil, just characters making decision because of <insert factor that isn't some form of objective morality> and that leaves fairly few angles. This has happened in most shows since the 00s while more and more content is being produced and it's getting very repetitious.

It's not so much that you can't make a good show using a formula like this, you can but when most shows do it you're not really getting anything new out of em, it's just the same old. You have to focus more on the action, the effects, grand views etc.
