Re: Severance (2022) (Adam Scott, Chr. Walken, Patricia Arquette)

OMG.  What an ending.

There better be a season 2, that was one of the biggest revels/cliff-hangers I have seen for a very long time

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Yes, Wizard. What. a. cliffhanger! I wish they'd revealed more, but at least there's this:

Relieved main dude got to see the photo of his wife at the end. Is she kept in a Lumin dungeon overnights or something?

Why is Arquette still so maniacally murderously gung ho for the company that just fired her?

Once the 4 "reset" what will they remember?

Spoiler

1. Lumon dungeon sounds about right. But why? Did they kidnap her and fake her death for some reason? Is she in on it, too, like Helly?

2. Maybe because she still loves Lumon so much and sees this as her way back in?

3. I think that's pretty clear: nothing. (Mark didn't recognize his sister in innie mode and didn't recognize his neighbor/ boss in outie mode.)

One of the better season finale I've ever seen.
Can't wait for season 2!

You guys are definitely on to something. When I first saw Ms. Casey walking down that corridor, at first glance, I thought she was heading to the breakroom, but after further inspection, that's when I noticed the creepy elevator. My first reaction was next stop, Hell lol, once she got on the elevator and went down, but the Lumon dungeon is probably more precise. Most of the innies, if not all, are already experiencing their own forms of Hell. So many questions - how many departments are there, what are they refining, who are the Lumon Board, what's up with the baby goats lol, what the hell is going on at Lumon Industries, etc...?

I did notice in the last episode, and a few others, Irving's outtie painting portraits of what seemed to be the corridor that we last saw Ms. Casey walking down. Has Irving's innie been down that corridor as well, and if so, did his outtie dream it? Is his outtie in some way involved with the company? I had a feeling Helly's reveal was gonna be important based on the way they briefly showed her outtie at the very end of 108. WOW, I did not expect that! That hit me just as hard, if not harder, than Ms. Casey being Mark's dead wife.

I thought I was doing myself a favor by waiting to watch episodes 1-8 the week of the finale, while timing it to collide with 109, only to get body-slammed by that ending. After watching Severance, I'm not even in the mood to watch anything else. lol At least for now...

Re: Severance (2022) (Adam Scott, Chr. Walken, Patricia Arquette)

109:  The best story telling the medium of television can produce.  It doesn't get any better than that.  So intense!

@Wizard, Lighton, Scorpius074, BigZ & Rocky +1

@Fassy - It's a really weird show, and probably not for everyone.

Re: Severance (2022) (Adam Scott, Chr. Walken, Patricia Arquette)

So intense!  Why do I have to wait for a new season?!

Re: Severance (2022) (Adam Scott, Chr. Walken, Patricia Arquette)

Damn! ep9 was fantastic, what a great build up! It went by incredible fast. It's been many years since i've had the frustrated feeling of waiting for another season to see a conclusion. I usally dont care much anymore, but damn, now i cant wait!

Absolutely. The finale was just gripping. The 40 minutes it took seemed like about 15.

I intentionally paused roughly half way through the final episode... and pondered how the season might end. smile

Re: Severance (2022) (Adam Scott, Chr. Walken, Patricia Arquette)

When is season 2 coming out?
One of the best shows I've seen in a long time.

Makes me wish that TV Show seasons would go back to broadcasting 26 episodes per year instead of the default 8 or 10 episodes.

Re: Severance (2022) (Adam Scott, Chr. Walken, Patricia Arquette)

I bet season 2 would have been out already without the strikes. sad

I had to get used to the shorter seasons, but now I prefer less episodes at a higher quality to what TV shows used to be. smile
