Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator, has just recently entered civilian life. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served.

When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years. The cops immediately arrest him and eyewitnesses claim to place Reacher at the scene of the crime.

While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.

Watch on Amazon.

Re: Reacher [Drama, Action]

It's ok I guess.  Better than the movies, which isn't saying much.

Re: Reacher [Drama, Action]

Sticks closely to the book and the lead actor is a better fit for Reacher than Tom Cruise. Some good fight scenes but the acting is just OK.

Re: Reacher [Drama, Action]

What follows is a spoiler of the series, not going into details.

Spoiler

The interaction with the police and then they just decide to kill and commit crimes everywhere.
Completely ignoring the validity of their acts or that they will be prosecuted for anything.
And it's also pretty out in the open what they do.

Thanks! It would be helpful if you'd edit your post and say which episode (or the whole show?) the spoiler is about, so people can decide when to read it. smile

Re: Reacher [Drama, Action]

I agree with the actor comments that he resembles Reacher from the books, I've read all the books to date and was very disappointed that they cast a tiny Tom Cruise in the role previously.

I'm OK with the show

Re: Reacher [Drama, Action]

I personally enjoyed it a lot, especially due to not being over-complex. It's a nice evening refresher you pick up before bed and you don't lose sleep over it. The cast I like a lot, and as opposed to Netflix at least there are no stupid casts just for the political correctness.

Re: Reacher [Drama, Action]

It was better than I had expected it to be, but it was still not very good.

The first movie was more fun than this poorly written and plotted series... I really wish there was a twist of some kind in the end that made all of those boring Eps worth watching but alas the writers seems to not understand how to do the one job they are presumedly getting paid for (tho if it turned out the actors made up their own dialogue and story that would have actually brought this mediocre event into clarity) hmm

Re: Reacher [Drama, Action]

First season was OK. Ritchson was a refreshing new take. Now after 2 eps of season 2, that shine has dulled for me. Alan lumbers woodenly through scenes, lines, even moves. I find myself wanting closer to Cruise, who was better if you hadn't read the books. Also, not a critique of Alan, but the show inclines to the homoerotic with his physique. Why not show more female skin? Not my cup of tea.

It shouldn't matter if you've read the books or not, they've adapted a much-loved book series and made the character into the brick-shithouse he's described as in the books.  Surely staying as faithful to the books should be important?  Surely they have to nail the main character?  It's even called Reacher so that I'm guessing that was their focus.

Choosing Tom Cruise to play Jack Reacher was laughable.  It's a bit like making a Hulk movie and making him turn blue not green.

2020.  Meh.
