The one guy having a seizure and harming everyone around him too was interesting. They did that with Professor X in the X-Men comics. A little, what happens when the most powerful psychic ever gets dementia. It's an interesting anthology to explore.

Interesting setup for the finale.

Really was not sure how the psychic chick was gonna go there for a minute. Vice President Newman having the same blood powers was definitely an interesting twist. The exploding... body part earlier in the series now makes more sense in context. Newman having the virus is definitely an interesting setup for the next season of The Boys. This definitely could be the answer to Homelander. Or not given that it still was contagious. I'm definitely interested in what happened to Newman's daughter too, we saw her give her daughter the V and the daughter was in immense pain, but we don't know if she ultimately survived the V process or what powers she got if she did. I have a feeling that

Spoiler

cate didnt actually kill Shetty and that the group of kids are actually under Cates influence again - this was the "last push" that Shetty wanted Cate to do. The same way as we saw her do when she was unconscious/

Eh...

Spoiler

I'm not sure though since unmedicated she can literally read Shetty's mind at that point. She has to know the endgame of the releasing of the virus. She straight up says Shetty tried to get her to kill her friends. If she were on Shetty's side it's pretty obvious she could get them to kill themselves pretty easily. If she was making them see all that she knows about the virus and is cool with releasing it which, I dunno, you can talk a people into a lot of things, releasing a virus that will kill you and all your friends is a pretty tough sell, even from a mother-like figure.

Spoiler

I assumed she was misleading Shetty while laying some mind mojo on her. But in retrospect and rewatching the scene it is kind of hard to tell what actually happened. I think Kate knowing about the virus though, and she would have to know to generate the illusion, is a sign she interrogated Shetty and found turned on her. But who knows!

Who knows though! At least the finale is soon! So many good shows airing right now, the writers strike means we're gonna have a bit of a dry spell unfortunately.

Well. This went nowhere. Still enjoyed it though.

That's one for the "can probably kill (and apparently avoid being killed by) Homelander" list, then? If not outright, then simply by preventing in-body bloodflow.

Foundation Season 2 just finished airing. I've been a fan since it started. Invincible Season 2 started, that was a long 3 year wait on those episodes. Loki Season 2 has been pretty excellent so far. Ahsoka wasn't half bad. That about accounts for the shows I've been keeping up with that have aired recently.

Re: Gen V (The Boys spinoff) (2023)

what about a poll - which sup power would you best like to have? I think the head popper for me

Hehe, true... smile

That was a weird finale ending though:

Spoiler

How could Homelander have 'sold' his attack on Marie and the others to everyone else who was watching (to control the narrative), without killing her? AFAIR we never saw her power being used in such a sure-death-defying way.

P.S.: Emma suddenly being able to change her size without (ab)using her stomach was a fun surprise. smile

Spoiler

It just showed them in a cell at the last scene. She was obviously unconscious, he could have said she was dead and most anyone would have believed it. Emma's power up was cool! It'd be cool as well if she can grow without eating!

I have mixed feelings about the show. As a supplemental tie in to The Boys it was really good. On its own the show fell kinda flat imo.

Really? He does his laser eyes thing and she's suddenly just unconscious? With no visible injuries? And the always-online, over-sharing GodU crowd buys that? cool

I wouldn't say "fell flat", but yes, not on the same level as The Boys. smile

Re: Gen V (The Boys spinoff) (2023)

I ended up really enjoying it as a whole.

As for the which superpower poll. You'd be crazy not to pick anything other than the mind control ability.

Why would you need the ability to blow people's heads off unless you just want to be a mass murderer? Are you thinking you would use it as a threat to get them to do what you want? Well just have the ability to directly control their thoughts and you dont have to overtly threaten them or actually kill people that call your bluff..

Mind control might sound good in theory, but Cate really seemed to suffer the more she was using it. And getting internal bleeding or even dementia as a result would suck.

I also don't understand the head-popping appeal... But law enforcement surely would need help to put someone like that in jail. smile

Teleportation. I forget which X-man it was that could create gates to any point on the planet or to the moon, but that is the ideal power. You could make a fortune gating trains and cargo around the world and instantly transporting people too.

Out of all the powers we've seen on the Boys? Stormfront. Immortality, lightning, flight, super strength, and bulletproof? Sign me up.

I have a theory she's still around. We never saw her die. And when homelander "lasered her tits" she was damaged but seemed to heal quickly. I wonder if she might regenerate and return.

Re: Gen V (The Boys spinoff) (2023)

Oh i thought we were only doing powers from this show. If they're all opened up I'd be hard pressed not to take Multiple Man's power set - make clones of yourself, free labor, and when you reabsorb them you learn everything they learned while separate. Oh and recently (despite years of him being broke) things he's holding, including money, have duplicated too.

Blink is the teleporter you're thinking of

Re: Gen V (The Boys spinoff) (2023)

Would be super speed for me, the quick thinking is left out in the boys tho...pretty sad without that big_smile

It was actually Gateway, and I forgot his gates could also be opened across time and dimensions too which is an extra level of dopeness. Multiple man is a really cool one too, and yeah it'd be awesome to be a one man construction crew. I always thought he should have named himself Legion or Army or something along those lines. You could also create backups of yourself across the world.

From the Boys, immortality is always a huge draw, and the ability to like, power your own house would be cool.
