Not that Pacino would have ever taken such a role...he doesn't have the range. Point to Pacino though for knowing it!
A guy with the acting range of a boulder could have pulled it off better. Don't get me wrong, De Niro is a good actor with a reasonable amount of range...just that range does not extend to the point of gay sky-pirate.

And really, the two are pretty close. I voted for Pacino more because De Niro has been in more roles where I wasn't impressed. As far as great performances go, they're more or less on par with each other.

yeah, i do think he pulled it off, but to give you the benefit of the doubt, i pulled out mah Stardust dvd tonight and gave it a watching with an open mind, and through those eyes i fail to see your perspective...

hmmm... so Pacino gets a point for being unable to take chances... what a money money good man big_smile

edit: and i mean, shit, who wouldn't jump at the chance to play a gay sky-pirate... tongue props to DeNiro for taking chances i say...

Dude! he was like a straight man pretending to be gay! not the other way around! he crashed and burned, imo.
It was like seeing someone do a magic trick that you already know the secret of - and seeing them do it sloppily.

Not for one second was he believably gay.
