Topic: SEASON 11 | Star On Disney+

They're 8 episodes into the eleventh season after a 10 year hiatus, and as far as I can tell one of only a few legacy classics you can still watch that started in the 90's.  (1999-2013, 2023)

As much as Futurama is a really funny blast from the past, these new episodes are so current and topical, it's almost too much, like they're so over the top with current news that the jokes don't land, like the Amazon episode called "Related to Items You've Viewed" the whole universe becomes a part of Amazon, or the Anti-Vax episode called "Rage Against the Vaccine", and the cancel culture episode called "Zapp Gets Cancelled". 

Is anyone watching Futurama?

Season 1-5 ran from 1999 to 2003, seasons 6 and 7 from 2010 to 2013, this is the eighth season that is currently airing.

Agreed, 8 seasons.  No idea how anyone managed to count to 11.

There's a thread on Reddit that has this quote.

The production team created 7 seasons of the show (the Production Order) but due to networks airing the show weirdly, it was broadcast on TV as 10 seasons (the Broadcast Order).

So there is an explanation.

This season has alternatively been titled the eighth season (production), and the eleventh season (broadcast). This list follows the previous season box sets, which feature the episodes in the original, intended production season order, ignoring the order of broadcast.

Disney+ has it listed as Futurama Season 11, so forever thou shalt be.   Let's just say, episodes 141 - 150.

I blame comedy central, they don't follow standard seasons when making shows, like seasons 5, 6, & 7 were nuts, this is typical, the episodes in the box set for Harvey Birdman are completely outta whack to the air date, too, it drives me nuts when re-watching, as I prefer broadcast order not production order.
