According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except Aziraphale, a somewhat fussy angel, and Crowley, a fast-living demon - both of whom have lived among Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle - are not actually looking forward to the coming war. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist...

Quite excellent, but the ending felt a bit rushed.

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

Yeah, I was slightly disappointed. It started out great but then went downhill a bit. Don't get me wrong, I will still continue watching it, I guess I just expected too much. smile

The book is quite good

I read the book years ago, was great. Haven't finished watching the series yet though.

i loved it, good adaptation.

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

Never read the book, had not heard anything about it, only watched it because people were talking about it in this forum.

Loved it!

The final scene was very... heartwarming. Been a while since I last felt that.

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

Based on the first episode, this is not for me.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

I'm amazed that any major religion besides small cults for totally brainwashed people managed to survive to this century.

You think the major religions haven't brainwashed their worshippers to some degree?

Anyway, that's beside the point. I would never have heard about this show if it weren't for the petition....thanks guys!

doesn’t happen often that a visual interpretation is as good as the written word...

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

I haven't been keeping up on this, but I really hope Netflix pokes some fun at them.

Netflix: We tried really, really hard to get Good Omens taken off the air, but Amazon said no.

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

Is there any significance to Crowley's license plate which reads "curtain" backwards (I think)?
And did anyone else notice the marquee during the lead-in animation reads the episode name and the director's (?) name?
David Tennant is still overly orange-colored this season.

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

1.  Yes:

It is “curtain” spelled backward and is pulled out of ‘Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life,’ referring to the writing on the mausoleum in the suicidal leaves section. “Curtain backwards, like it’s the final curtain,” MacKinnon said. The license plate is also a nod to Terry Gilliam, who wrote and worked on the animation of ‘Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life’ and was involved with an unrealized project to adapt ‘Good Omens’ into a film.

2.  Nothing strange about it, happens a lot with a long list of names to show

3.  Too much fake-tan?

1. Cool! Thank you!
2. I guess I didn't explain it right. During the animation at the beginning, you'll see a lit marquee (or theater sign) with the lightbulbs around it. Those signs change with each episode, showing the ep name and another name below it. Not important, but kind of fun.
3. I'd hoped they'd change it for season 2. It's distracting.

I've only watched S01E01, but the dialog is hilarious when G shows up at Az's bookstore!

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

2.  Ah yes, I see it now.  I usually skip all the intro stuff, just a waste of time.

3.  Maybe it's meant to be red for the devil/evil, but that wouldn't show up too well on the screen.
Yes, I know he it not the actual devil.

S02E02 - what part was the "mini episode" A Companion to Owls?

Re: Good Omens [Comedy, Drama, Fantasy]

Just randomly discovered season 2 is out and it is as good as the first one smile.

Love how fun this show is. Not into religion at all, but enjoying this immensely.

David Tennant's and Michael Sheen's characters chemistry is very entertaining.
