I find it odd as well that TheFizza had such a reaction to this show. But sure he can. There are no forum rules that stipulate that TheFizza has to explain why he finds certain shows trashy.

The only thing I do not like about that show is that when they portray the series as being very dangerous towards the main character. We all know he will not die. So why even bother.

That's like putting Kirk from T.O.S. in a dangerous situation. There is no point to it. Because we all know they won't kill him. I loved the last season of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan except for the last episode. It was annoying as hell, and felt forced.

I am the firm believer that a good show should always start with a 2 hour season beginning and a 2 hour ending. With the second hour of the last episode being the first of the new season. But I also believe we should have 22-25 episodes per season instead of the crap we get now.

Just imagine Jack Ryan at 22 episodes. The stories they could tell. Getting wet just thinking about it.

I was joking... Of course he doesn't have to explain it, but I am curious to learn more!

Yeah, that's a problem with most shows... You either learn to ignore it or it will bother you again and again. In stark (haha) contrast to that, nobody was safe in https://next-episode.net/game-of-thrones. big_smile

That's not something I would like, but I'm a big fan of those (rare) 'what happened in the last season' follow-up season introductions in the first episode. It's not done enough often enough! Especially when it takes more than a year for the next season to air. But at least - for many shows - these days, you can find season recaps on YouTube. Sometimes even done by the company offering the show. smile

Yes, that would be something... smile

I found the characters unlikable, the story unbelievable (even for fiction) but mostly it was sooooo slow! I was like, maybe the movies were fun (for the most part) because we didn't have to spend 8 of 10 hours dicking around with Ryan hmm

And THIS drove me crazy, thanks for pointing it out! What they needed was a character that we actually could worry about... on top of that as someone who has read and watched Jack Ryan over the years John Krasinski was no Jack Ryan.

Re: Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan

Finished season 3. Such a great show! <3 The big budget is visible, they are putting my Prime bucks to good use. smile

Spoiler

I love how believable the Moscow/ Russia scenes looked, given that - as expected - they didn't film over there:

Re: Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan

I was impressed by "the dude from the office", ever since "A Quiet Place". I'v seen seasons 1 & 2 of Jack Ryan, and thought they were really good. And then season 3 comes along, and they keep up the levels of excellence of the fist two seasons, and then even up them!

Kudos to everybody involved! Can't wait for season 4! :-)

I didn't enjoy Season 3 as much.  Just a bit... Nothingy.

2020.  Meh.

Re: Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan

Finished season 4 and thus the show. I still enjoyed it, but I'm totally okay with it being over. The concept felt very fresh when the show started, but it became a bit stale. Not boring stale, but "it's okay that it's ending" stale.

Re: Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan

I recently started season four myself and—four episodes in—I feel the same as you. Solid so far but missing that extra bit of Oomph prior seasons had.

Please let me know once you finished the show if you were able to tell how exactly that extra bit was missing. I knew it was missing, but can't say how exactly. smile

You already provided the best possible answer for me. This season is still good, it just lacks the captivating nature of its earlier counterparts, notably the first two seasons. But that could also be a result from what you mentioned earlier about the series now feeling a bit stale. The pacing felt off, and for the most part, I was able to foresee the twists from a mile away. While the plot was good and not entirely unfamiliar, there was room for better construction. Nonetheless, overall, a solid cast and some strong scenes in a shortened format made it mostly enjoyable for me.
