Well, that was a cliffhanger to end with!

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]
Really liked this season. Going for the books after the wife gets through them. I suspected ▼Spoiler the pretty flowers and birds were a scam because they all looked exactly the same every time. I guess having a large number of silos makes sense given that there was another cavern shown quite early on. Hardest part to understand atm is why they'd want to stay in a vacuum like that.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]
Thankfully, Apple TV+ has confirmed Silo will return for a second run with Ferguson leading the cast once again, but when will see the series return to our screens

Great season finale! mrverene wrote:▼Spoiler S2, camped mutants take all her bottle caps
@mrverene Ha! ▼Spoiler Ha, like Erickson out in Far Harbour, so I guess Jules turns into Trashcan Carla then? @Wizard...remember when I said: ▼Spoiler Also, what is the false image, the good one or the bad one? Is the camera glitching good or glitching bad? Is the glitching just another system of control embedded in the Silo experiment?
...and then you said... ▼Spoiler The video feed is doctored and shows a filtered/changed view of the outside. The "glitch" that we see was the real outside. ...but then the finale showed that... ▼Spoiler ...the glitch is fake and the barren wasteland is real, (the opposite of your spoiler) so are you suggesting that Jules helmet is giving two faked images, and that if she removed her helmet it would be nice outside? Because the TV series is suggesting that she only survived by a special suit that was reinforced by better tape, and that there are lots of silos next to each other in a nuclear wasteland and if you removed your helmet it would be instant death. Let me know what you mean, and if the TV show deviated from the books. Unless of course they're in the matrix/computer program and if they take their helmet off they wake up in the real world. lolz.

▼Spoiler Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine there were lots of Silos. I wonder if the Mayor knows that?

1x10. Daaaaaaaaaamn! So good! ▼Spoiler What exactly did she do with the Sheriff star? Put it onto his corpse? Why did the mayor run to the server room? Are cleaners only being shown a beautiful fake reality so that they will clean?

This TV show is way better than the book in my opinion. The book lacks details it should include to advance plot and move the story forward, and uses waaaay too many unnecessary descriptive words that bog down the flow of events, which makes for a clunky read. I'd have edited the crap out of this. ▼Spoiler To answer your questions, here's what I've gleaned so far, but I haven't finished yet.
▼Spoiler Why are you still clicking, stop it, this will ruin everything for next season.
▼Spoiler What exactly did she do with the Sheriff star? Put it onto his corpse? The whole thing about the sheriff badge is not in the book at all, but yes, she put it on Holstons corpse as Jules knew approximately where Allison and Holston were through the digital lie in her helmet, she could tell where they were but this is barely mentioned in the book and not unpacked at all, also, there are a lot more dead bodies to come. Why did the mayor run to the server room? There are rules for the head of IT, "If someone survives the cleaning, prepare for war in the Silo." All the historical records are in the server room to protect human history, and the head of IT can communicate with other Silos and check in with them. (monitors of the monitors, just like I thought...but none now exist to help Bernard, thus the reason he panicked.) Are cleaners only being shown a beautiful fake reality so that they will clean? Ya, to trick cleaners into taking off their helmets and kill themselves, like Holston did, to keep the people who are watching, subservient to the laws and rules of the Silo. (this is a weak hierarchical structure in my opinion and very weak writing, as coercion and fear is the dumbest approach to stability, ever try truth and honesty ffs!!) Juliette just outsmarted the trick....with a lot of help from Martha Walker who called in all her favours to the head of "Supply" to manufacture a reinforced suit for Juliette's cleaning as the suit is normally built to fail so cleaners will die. ▼Spoiler Season 2, I'll say Chapters 30 to 60 of the book I'm guessing will be season 2, is about how Juliette makes her way into Silo 17, dead bodies everywhere, meets Solo, and learns everything she can about the history of the Silos then repairs Silo 17, and back home at Silo 18 there's the prep for war, then a war, then aftermath. Which would probably be all of season 2 up to the start of season 3.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]
This show is a little predictable, but interesting nonetheless. ▼Spoiler My first thought at the beginning, was they should take off the suit! As it was obviously rigged to gas them. But i still can't work out why the multiple duplicity on what they can see. Also, as soon as a door was mentioned at the bottom of the Silo, it was fairly obvious to me then, that it would lead to other 'Silo's, perhaps a network of corridors, linking them all together.
Also, where are the mines? How do they access them, if no-one else knows about the 'bottom' of the Silo? Still, it's all been very well done, and me and wifey can't wait for the next season!

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]
Silo Season 2 Gets Major Filming Update From Rebecca Ferguson https://screenrant.com/silo-season-2-fi … -ferguson/ Silo season 2 filming concludes on March 8, 2024 It’s great news to learn that Silo season 2 will soon be done shooting, but post-production is a long process, so it’s unlikely new episodes will land before late 2024 or early 2025.
I had hoped for the next season to come a bit sooner, but fall would still be nice.

Further book spoilers here:
▼Spoiler I especially disliked how book 2 almost completely switched into the past. I hope for the show they stuck parts of book 2 and 3 together so it'd blend more. All the past exposition is not necessary to get the point across and Donald's character can be brought in in a less time hogging way. I also agree that the whole masterplan to only leave 1 silo alive and have them repopulate earth because they are somehow superior was incredibly underwhelming and stupid as a premise. I expected more of it especially because they had a whole book about the past and it ended up being just mostly stupid.

Re: Silo [Drama, Sci-Fi]
don't know the books... read "post apocalyptic" in a "silo" and thought - clever, they can do all the "apocalyptic" stuff without the expensive location & CGI setups, smart move! But probably shite.... Trailer was good, and then i had a peek! ... and? WOW this show is REALLY great!!! I am soooo curious for S2! Ferguson is really great but its not only her, its the script, fantastic dramaturgy, directing, mostly all acting and the soundtrack, woow the soundtrack - Atli Örvarsson outdid himself!! love it, need more seasons
