Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

The Season 2 trailer just dropped, and it looks like it has a cross over with ST:Lower Decks.

Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I was hoping that god-aweful series would be dropped, unless they reinvent that old fogey of a captain. I bet he will still be back with that aweful hair style

Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

This one is the best of all new Star Trek shows in my opinion and Picard is the worst. Crossover with Lower Decks is a funny idea. This will probably be enjoyable.

I bet this will be put on your tombstone one day:

He loved to complain... but he just couldn't stop watching.

Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Neither. Just dropped in a hole.

Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

season 2 eps 1. A great start. I do believe they have toned down Pikes hair make him look less like an old fogey. And best of all he only had a small part.

Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I thought it was a mixed bag, not as good as I was hoping. That annoying old woman is a laughably bad actress and thinks she is performing in a children's show or pantomime.

Its a weird choice to not feature the lead captain in the return episode but I enjoyed Spock, although they really want to push him having emotions way too much.

A big drop from Picard S3 but at least it was still a lot better than Discovery.

I also realized how little of S1 I actually remembered, I remember thinking it was decent for new age ST but couldn't really remember many story points.

I too cannot remember a single story from season 1. Discovery I can - yes having that womans grin forced down  your throat at every turn was boring but atleast there were stories.

2x1

I also found Carol Kane annoying in her role, but only for a minute or so, then I liked her performance. smile

I loved that going to warp scene (leaving the space dock)! So much more visually pleasing than... ever before?

The doctor + nurse fight scenes would have been much better with slightly better editing and much better (different) music IMHO.

I remember her from Scrooged with Bill Murray. She has a distinctive voice that you either love or hate

Her voice sounds like she smoked waaaaay too much in her past. smile

-Ep2

Spoiler

I'd describe as allegorical trope related to prejudice and diversity using the Star Trek universe. Overall, tactfully presented and worthy of an attentive watch, imo.

Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I agree. I don't recall a better/ more satisfying trial conclusion from any other TV show than this one in 2x2. smile

2x03 seemed like a filler episode to me.

Maybe so, but I really like those kind of episodes were characters gets put in strange situations, if it's well done that is. Also a golden chanse to build some character progression.
And I must say I like the security officer better now than before the episode.

Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Episode 3 was what Star Trek has been since TOS, a repeat of an old story. This time there was a new twist on it, so it felt like new. I liked it.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Me too! smile I wonder if we'll get to see her acting just that little bit different in future episodes than before, having been impacted in this profound way.

I enjoyed the episode, loved the ending!

Probably the best episode of the entire series so far. It definitely felt like "actual" Star Trek unlike most of the recent stuff under the ST name.

Like others apparently, I never really liked whatshername grand-daughter of Khan but this story did a lot to help that.

I do laugh though, being related to Khan is obviously an issue for her, she always seems to bring up what a curse it is..... just change your damn surname, end of problem lol

In some countries that's more or less impossible today, so who knows how the rules regarding that are in her future. cool

2x3 - Ohhhhhhhhhh Canada. tongue  Star Trek has confirmed, Toronto is just as bad as we all know it is.

I've always loved the temporal prime directive episodes, and this was no exception.
