Mrs. Davis is an exploration of faith versus technology - an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.

From Tara Hernandez (The Big Bang Theory) and Damon Lindelof (Watchmen).

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

I was going to skip this after watching that teaser trailer. Then I found the official trailer and it looks a lot more interesting.

That makes it a lot less creepy than the teaser, a lot funnier too!

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Creepy?! big_smile Intriguing! cool

Thanks, AdrianW! I'll tell santah about it. That trailer makes it feel like a completely different show... I don't recall ever watching a trailer surprising me as much as this one, after I already watched the teaser. smile

And funny that Peacock is blocking a good part of the current axis of evil. big_smile

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

That's one of the better pilots I've seen in a long time. Hopefully it'll hold up.

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

It's ok, but alot more silly than I thought it would be.

2020.  Meh.

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

Finished ep 4. I'm really digging this one. Just the right amount of silly to match the premise in my humble imho.

Same here, just finished 1x1. Will continue, but it's weird in a ... weird way. Not what I expected, but at least they had some fun ideas. smile

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

1x2. This felt more coherent, got some Lindelof/ https://next-episode.net/the-leftovers vibes. smile

And I only now remembered that Lindelof already worked with Betty Gilpin in The Hunt (2020)!

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

Still finding it great, but maybe it's just my wheelhouse as I'm a big fan of the convoluted-but-utterly-ridiculous-conspiracy genre ala Pynchon and Foster Wallace. 1x5 is the big info dump episode.

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

fun show. good dose after that dreadful S&L

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

Ok for me that was a masterpiece of a one-season show.

Spoiler

The Buffalo Wild Wings reveal was hilarious.

I'm hoping that's it, as I can't help but think a second season would just be disappointing.

Re: Mrs. Davis [Drama]

I still haven't finished the show, just watched 1x7.

Spoiler

Loved the super weird Electric Avenue 'beach flashmob' at the end! big_smile

Soooo good. big_smile

I loved it, but I only ended up giving it 8/10. Had hoped to love it even more. I totally agree with your spoiler. And sadly, your hopes might turn out to be right, according to https://tvline.com/2023/05/22/mrs-davis … d-peacock/:

is the A.I.-fighting sister due for a second act? It appears not.

Although a Peacock rep declined to comment, a source at the streamer confirms to TVLine that there are no plans for the acclaimed dramedy — which ended its inaugural eight-episode season on May 18 — to return for a second season.

The news was foreshadowed earlier this month with the reveal of Mrs. Davis’ abrupt Emmys strategy shift. As our sister site Variety reported, the show — which was originally set to enter the comedy series race — will now compete as a limited series.
