Topic: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
This is a great game, but it's easy to get lost and have to back track, the lightsabre's are cool collectibles but they don't have any unique skills in them so they're kind of a gimmick. The unique Star Wars worlds you get to explore like the Wookie home world of Kashyyyk, are beautiful and expansive, and great fun to roam around in. There's a sequel in the works, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, I just found out about, which should be fun. Cal Kestis looks like he's getting some upgrades. Re: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor
I've not played it yet but I feel like Cal Kestis seems less like a Jedi name and more like he wants to take you out sailing one day to tell you about some new coverage options on your life insurance policy.

I just meant the name. I'm trying not to hold Gotham against the actor.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor - Advertisement with Mark Hamill Jedi Survivor launched yesterday, and it looks like everyone had a lot of fun making it. I love how he just throws popcorn at him.

Apparently a great game riddled with huge performance issue so buy at your own peril. I personally refuse to give Respawn money until they actually fix it. I really do hope these terrible UE4 PC ports will be gone soon.

I bought it this morning and returned after 30mins due to performance issues Real shame as it does seem like a very good game at heart. I’ll buy it again once it’s been batched to run better

I really don't get why pc players bother trying a brand new release unless they're a streamer (who'd prolly get it for free if anyone was watching). Easy enough to test console versions since specs are the same but devs basically use the live release to beta test different pc rigs.

See, you are bringing logic to the conversation and ignoring the hope we still have to, just once, have something nice

Re: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor
I pay 99€ / year for EA Play Pro. It's less than 2 games / year and I feel that I get my moneys worth with it. No need to buy a game when it's included.
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Re: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor
Official notice from EA regarding Jedi Survivor PC Issues Woah woah woah you guys, unless you're supporting an independent game developer and/or enjoy being a guinea pig for game studios, never buy PC games until at least 6-12 months after launch (& on sale) because they're insanely buggy. @graybags @toidol Did you finish Jedi Fallen Order? If not, it's "something nice", especially Kashyyyk. @mrverene Consoles still exist? /S lolz Why? @Daemonius I have some friends who make use of EA Play Pro and they really enjoy it, but I'd never make use of it, and I also prefer to own games that I've bought on sale.

I buy games on sale, but if I want to play new games when they come out EA Play Pro or even Xbox Gamepass Ultimate is good for that.

I did, a few times. That’s one of the reasons I was really looking forward to this one

Other than Jedi Survivor I wouldn't play the rest of the games in EA Play Pro, as I have more off brand tastes. @toidol That's too bad it's broken. Have you played the rest of the games I've been talking about here on next ep? RDR2, Death Stranding, Outer Worlds, Cyberpunk? FYI, I left a link with a notice from EA regarding the PC issues with Jedi Survivor.

You will get something nice, eventually. With >60fps Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the first one to pop up free on epic cuz like a dope i wasn't subbed to prime when it was free there. Sure I could buy it for 5 bucks but my bloated libraries frown at me sinking even more money into the hoard when there could be free hoard later.

Presumably so there can be console exclusives to sell for 70 bucks, turn into tv shows, then put on pc years later for 70 bucks like they're a new game.

Re: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor - I finally finished, and I'd give it a 6.5/10, and totally disagree with this:
TL:DR - Too much platforming, fetch quests are still meaningless, story and Cantina characters lacks depth. I enjoyed the experience, but I'd want there to be some character benefit/connection/point/purpose to all the fetch quests but there's not, they're all aesthetic and have no tangible benefit to your character or the story, it's just different lightsabers, guns, clothing, hairstyles??, BD Parts, and Material/Color changes, and with the exception of lightsabres most of which I felt little to no need to ever change out, and the gardening was an altogether waste, which all felt so unnecessary. That said, the graphics are a 10/10, it's one of the most beautiful games ever made, and whatever bugs they had when this started, it only crashed 3 times for me, but when it did, it's a long optimization/load screen and then a restart WAY back at your last meditation point, in the game. Instant save would be amazing, like F5 or CTRL S, would infinitely improve this game. They should design the progress through the game in such a way that you can limit or even prevent any backtracking, to create a sense of flow to it. The dialogue was so pre-teen, it was annoying, and there really were no character or story highlights, or much relevance to the side stories, and the main story was filled with plot holes that often didn't make a lot of sense. The puzzles were the highlight even more so than Fallen Order, as they felt more like Tomb Raider in the puzzle style and complexity, one on Jedha in particular was really challenging and a lot of fun! However, they REALLY felt contrived to the point of ridiculous, and I'd opt for more story and less ridiculous platforms to climb. The lightsabre stances were fun to practice, but when push comes to shove, and there's 20+ storm troopers with a boss, Dual Wield was the only stance worth using, rendering every other stance just an easy way to die. Oh, some fetch quests, you are actually intended to die getting them, and dying in general is basically all you do in this game! While it was fun and I enjoyed the experience, ultimately the beautiful worlds couldn't offset the grindy meaningless repetitive slog backtracking through a game with an unresolving story. 6.5/10.

Re: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor
Sounds like yet another game with a pointless gear system glued on (peep this googlestion i got yesterday on the subject, i lulzed. https://www.gamesradar.com/suicide-squa … -fire-axe/ ). I'll still play it one day but will wait around for it to drop under 5 bucks since I've got thousands of games in the queue already. I still haven't installed Fallen Order, which I just bought for a pittance, cuz i was finishing Deathloop.

Game is still plagued by performance issues as well. Not expecting this to be fixed ever though.

Re: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor
@Z1rra, the only in game performance issue that bogged my system was when you're in the ship and accessing the map to move to other worlds, the FPS would drop from 90 to 10, it was annoying. I had a few crashes but other than that, it was smooth sailing for 100hrs.

Re: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor
Hmm, must be luckier than me. The gameplay mostly ran okay for me but about half the cutscenes really brought down the fps to a standstill and it took 10-20 seconds to recover all the time. It got really annoying really fast. Refunded the game before 2 hours ran out. It's not like I'm running a bad setup either with 5800x3D, 3080 Ti and 32GB of RAM so I really don't wanna blame that.

Did you buy the game at launch or just recently, because they patched a lot of problems since launch. Your setup shouldn't bog down at all, also, very similar to mine, I9-9900K, 3080Ti, 32GB, EVO 970 NVMe SSD, Noctua NH-D15S, and 7 case fans, I was playing 4K Medium settings with no DLSS, so, do you perhaps have bad air flow in your PC?? This kind of game I don't even bother with fan curves I just crank my fans to max to get the temps down to around 65ish, so check your fans. 4K max settings of Jedi Survivor is reserved for the 4090/13900K crowd, so perhaps lower graphic settings and cranking the fans would've helped. Did you run an Nvidia Performance optimization? Do you have AMD's SAM (ReBAR) turned on? Do you leave a lot of Windows programs running in the background? My crashes were all due to DAC driver conflicts, and not the game...only 1 DAC on at a time, but my ears thank me for low total harmonic distortion. Your setup should run like the following Youtube Video of a 5800X3D w/ 3080TI playing Jedi Survivor. mrverene wrote:Installed Fallen Order. Just finished the first planet. Dying repeatedly, IS the game. Enjoy. lolz.
