Topic: The Power [Drama, Fantasy, Super Heroes]
https://next-episode.net/the-power
Suddenly, and without warning, all teenage girls in the world develop the power to electrocute people at will. It's hereditary, it's inbuilt, and it can't be taken away from them. Over our first season and beyond, the series will follow its cast of remarkable characters from London to Arizona, Nigeria to Moldova, as the Power evolves from a tingle in teenagers' collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world. Everything's about to change, for everyone.

The teaser trailer looks cool. Could be a good show, possibly controversial.

Re: The Power [Drama, Fantasy, Super Heroes]
I'm kind of getting bored by all the teen content, just so that they can lower the rating and have a broader audience

well "plugin in your daughter, you do not need solar panels! Solve the energy crisis and get all that free green power!!!" Gives another meaning to"girl power"! hard to see how it could be other than a one season show

Physics facepalms incoming I give it a tiny chance that it won't be a cringefest, but will take a look.

Re: The Power [Drama, Fantasy, Super Heroes]
There was a time I definitively cared or judged media entertainment by its political content, the social justice implications, or even the misleading or biased propaganda agendas. Not so much today. So I get it. Middle-aged white males being depicted as evil or the "bad guy". The liberal, politically correct views and perspectives. And just general stereotypes that I may or may not agree with...etc. So I get it. We're still free (for the most part) to opine on, critique, or rate shows however we like. I've done it, I do it. Makes for conversation too. That said, I was earnestly watching every minute of Episodes 1-3. This show is great, glad it was added to the forum. Good measure of suspense, albeit some predictable "agendas". You know stories that capture the essence of communities, countries, a family, right before a major catastrophe or world changing event? Not much different than the starts of TWD or FTWD, The Impossible, Contagion, Armageddon, that stuff. Well I dig that shit. If it has decent writing, above average acting, overall high production value, I'm likely to watch. I've learned to be entertained, even with plot holes and inaccurate details (to a degree) . I'd recommend it. I give Ep01-03 an 8/10 maybe 8.4.

Re: The Power [Drama, Fantasy, Super Heroes]
I can agree that it's high quality vomit, they spent a lot of money here and paid some very talented people. So, it's even bigger offense - same as some 5 other shows, this could be really good, but it's not - unless you are braindead Twitter screecher, who don't have a gag reflex on all that bs or see some entertainment value, for example, when lil electric commie bitch is upset about moms $800 shoes, while fighting for $1500 TV remote and sitting on $3000 couch in a couple mil $ house etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. I would appreciate if they would leave sci-fi and couple other genres I watch alone, and push their vomit let's say in romantic melodramas only Until then, they have a right to make that trash, I have a right to not like it. They want to "trigger a discussion", to "do a revolution" - fine, let's discuss, but be ready that at the end of discussion you will be crying Actually from all their idiocy this aspect makes me laugh the most - they provoke, pick a fight, but assume that nobody will fight back Like their little "progressive" lala land is untouchable Like in this show that little black poor, suffering thing - ooh, nobody asked you if you like meat? Shut your hole and go plant some carrots One comparison how I see them all as a group - all those white man bad, strong independent woman, cow farts counters etc. - all together (a common trait, they all think they are holy and progressive) - it's the same as small children throw a tantrum in a supermarket when mommy refuses to purchase some toy, just way more obnoxious, stupid, racist, hypocritical and idiotic. Instead of lying on a supermarket floor and screaming, they type on Twitter and write scripts in Hollywood And both fish for empathy, but same as 99% of people think that screaming kid needs to shut up, they achieve they same reaction. And then they are upset and need to censor that reaction, lol. Like also in this case - Youtube disabled dislike counter, but with API call you can see it - that trailer has some 50% dislikes, IMDb by some magic has no reviews and looks like Amazon decided to not promote their own creation, it was launched yesterday and zero ads. And modern problems require a modern solutions. As I see it, all these needs to be categorized and described as shit, because that's also their weakest point - they cannot handle any kind of criticism (because of that self proclaimed holiness, it causes sparks and fatal internal errors). So far past years they desperately try to blend in the mix, so - need to single them out in some Cringe category.

I always appreciate your input and insight. I don't disagree with the majority of your reply. I hear you man, You're not wrong. I respect your candor and like I said, I enjoy "listening" to your perspective.

If you don't like it... Don't. Watch. It. Or waste your time watching it, and then even more time entering your ever-so-important opinions into online forums.
2020. Meh.

Re: The Power [Drama, Fantasy, Super Heroes]
A strange show. ▼Spoiler Are we going to see girls zapping mysogynistic men? will trans-women get the organ? or only real women? "you can take hormones and have plastic surgery to turn your penis into vagina but you cannot have this women only organ , buster!" Is this how real women respond to the extreme trans-ideology? zap those who call them terfs? The fightback starts now! This could be a great dark comedy show but I doubt it

Musk formulated that strangeness very precisely in a single sentence: "The woke mind virus is making Netflix unwatchable"

Re: The Power [Drama, Fantasy, Super Heroes]
Googled the book author, what a surprise. That white man bad theme continues irl as well. https://twitter.com/naomiallthenews The fact alone that you know somebody, who visits installations called #blackpowernaps, says a lot (and even more if they are thrown out of them ) - also imagine these screechers exploding, if somebody would call something #whitepowernaps Actually, they don't know that on KTM motorcycles WP forks stands exactly for that - white power, that's probably why they are not renamed yet, same as git master branches, Jenkins master instance, Redis also had broken config and countless other things "novel The Power, which won the Women's Prize for Fiction in 2017" - it's a contest where everybody got medals? Won't even ask why there is a women category at all

He's now banned for a month. I've warned him many times. If he continues the behavior after the temporary ban, he'll be banned permanently.

Re: The Power [Drama, Fantasy, Super Heroes]
I am INTO THIS, bigtime. The societal implications are mind-boggling. Teen chix are their own power supply. They can jumpstart batteries. Or generators. Or god knows what... also obviously, the opposite. They can stop any shit from working. Hoping they go medieval on the patriachy. But before then I'm guessing theyre going to be treated like freaks. Rounded up. Banned from air flights etc. Unable to buy cars and what have you. Then fast forward a few months and they will have assumed complete power over society.

Watched 1x1. Enjoyed watching it! I give it a 8.4/10, and I can see it going even higher as the season progresses, or way down. There's potential in every direction.

I cannot see eps 4 going down too well in Saudi Arabia or any of the other middle eastern states that repress women
