Trailer looks promising. Good cast, and probably a good budget.

Re: Rabbit Hole [Action, Drama, Thriller, Spy/Espionage]
Sadly, 24 this is not. I get that the show is called Rabbit Hole and that it implies there's gonna be layers to everything but it just feels like it's trying to distract from a weak core story.
▼Spoiler Tom is probably a split personality or some twin brother or some shit I may just be a curmudgeon who'd just love to see new Jack Bauer adventures.

Just start watching 24 again from season 1, there are 200 episodes, it will feel like new Jack Bauer adventures

Watch the pilot last night and it's looking good. ▼Spoiler I have to admit that it is difficult not to see him as Jack Bauer, especially with the story line

Meanwhile I dug up this 7 years old Australian show, which has nice 24 vibes: https://next-episode.net/hyde-and-seek - wanted to check why the rating is so high and it indeed is good.

This one hooked me right in. Jack Bauer without a leash, it's great! I get 24 vibes mixed with Lie to me/The Mentalist vibes, just cause he's able to social engineer situations on the fly; also has a pacing that keeps me interested, at least so far.

I like it so far. There're some really unbelievable bits, but it's fun.

I think the Keifer presence sells it. Definitly a "24" vibe without the well populated homebase or "Division" looking over your shoulder.

So they've got Keifer being my age on the show even though he's 10 years older and looks 20 years older. Neat
▼Spoiler Love how it took the character much longer than the audience to figure out the password, yet they still felt the need to reveal it at the end for the people who nodded off.

It is top notch. The plot twists keep coming. Even some quirky dialogue added in episode 3 for some relief from Jack's bloody mumbling...

Yes, I like that, I still call characters the names from the actors previous work, he's forever Jack Bauer in my mind anyway, and it's so much easier and better than John Weir. 1x3 really good episode. ▼Spoiler I like the line; "A country rife with anger and division is a job already half done." Centering a show around protagonists involved in cyphers, code breaking, and corporate/political data mining, then having your villain be a wealthy elite using current political divisions to destabilize democracies and consolidate power is more than somewhat, right on the nose! ie, World Economic Forum, Bilderberg, Cambridge Analytica, etc. Makes me wonder how many times this kind of thing has happened and how it is happening right now, because it's probably not too far from the truth. Jack Bauer used to stop nuclear bombs against very direct and overt terrorists/villains but in Rabbit Hole, the attack he's facing is more subtle and covert, this attack is the long game played with a sneakier and quieter approach, but he's still playing Jack Bauer, just in a different way. What do you suppose the whole Crypto Wallet $26,000,000.00 trade transfer was all about? Is she another corporate spy is she CIA is she working for Crowley? My suspicion is that Jack already knows a few things about who she really is but not everything and is using her, as this show likes to bury the lede or fail to show important information, as a plot device for call backs.

Yeah Dad has clearly ▼Spoiler rumbled her too. Some sort of super baddie surely. Not seeing the phone dropped on the grass right in front of you, yeah right, you'd have to be the crappiest spy in history not to notice that. She's kidding herself.

1x1. I was a bit disappointed at first - at the first roughly 50% of the episode. But then it got better and better, with a fun surprise at the end! Will keep watching for sure.

About your spoiler: ▼Spoiler The dad is a super spy, he knows, but again, this show likes to bury the lede, I'm assuming they'll come back to that moment where she drops the phone in a later episode. *Also, isn't saying "Dad" a spoiler too?

Re: Rabbit Hole [Action, Drama, Thriller, Spy/Espionage]
I found the sound design to be annoying at times while watching 1x1, but in 1x2 I liked it! Really supported the intended mood. And guys, please remember to mention which episode the following spoiler is about, that really helps.

I watched 1x3 and 1x4 by now. Fun show, I love how often they lead you in one direction, only to surprise you with another twist later on.

Re: Rabbit Hole [Action, Drama, Thriller, Spy/Espionage]
Episode 1x4: ▼Spoiler Everything about Hailey is off and phony, how she inserted herself into John's life, how quickly John gave her fieldwork and she does it so smoothly, how she's still hanging around and not going home, how we learn she's a thief and possibly a con artist also able to take down two guards in the dark without any problems? Great episode but so phony.

Yes it is a bit daft that Jack just accepts she's a kickarse ninja Hope that was the ▼Spoiler 150k bottle of grog she was swigging from at the end though.

Re: Rabbit Hole [Action, Drama, Thriller, Spy/Espionage]
Hmmm, not convinced. Ep1 and Ep2 were nice and started off with some interesting storylines and some nice scenes... e.g. the "set up" to get the photo done. Top notch. But even in those episodes, I was a bit annoyed again by weaving in the "current thing.". Why? Well, just because. In Ep3 and 4 it gets more annoying with the stereotypical on-the-nose conspiracy crap. And the storyline development isn't that great... strange pacing and actually quite confusing but at the same time somehow boring. Like Greyhound said...."Sadly, 24 this is not." It gets a weak-6 out 10 from me for now. Enough to give it a few more episodes.... but I am not really biting my nails how the story develops.

Loving the absurdity of how Jackie B will ▼Spoiler casually take a hammer from a fridge and smash a hole in a wall anywhere to retrieve stashed laptops/cash/passports/gold bars/twinkies/whatever in which ever safe house he happens to be in that day.
