Re: Star Trek: Picard

I see this group is infested with TNG Trekkies. Time to get the weedwacker out?  The first 2 seasons were ok with the first the best. Has been going downhill since then reverting to form. It is strange that since Crusher is now here that there has been no reference at all to Wesley ( or did I miss something) as if he did not exist? You would have thought that Picard would have asked what he is getting up to these days?

Re: Star Trek: Picard

@merc, A bit confused by the weedwacker comment, not sure how that works, you like season 1 and 2 and want Wesley back, which means you want trek canon to remain canonical yet you don't like the TNG trekkies who follow it, doesn't that just mean you're a trekkie? lolz.

Beverly did mention Wesley in passing during a conversation with Picard, and that's it so far.  Wesley is such a conspicuous absentee, it's like the guest of honor isn't showing up for the award.  My hope, is that he swoops in, Captain of his own ship, and saves the day....and gets his own spin off.

Season's 1 and 2 of Picard were a mess compared to season 3, the entire series/franchise is now finally back on track, as the core audience has been waiting for a post Dominion war tie in storyline since DS9!  It would've been a better show all around, if they set some of this up, like left crumbs of this current changeling storyline, in the first two seasons; also, avoided wasting time making all those spin-offs that've come since Voyager for that matter.

Now I'm kinda sad Chief O'Brien died in DS9 during that radiation leak/time event, because you could get the WHOLE band back together, lolz, if he was still alive (unless Q reset the timeline, not sure at this point)....at least Lower Decks paid tribute to him:

A whimsey. season one was  more or less just Picard but we now have the full menagerie of TNG. I dont want Wesley back, some one mentioned him, just wonderng who else will turn up. Why call the show Picard if it is just the later adventures of TNG? TOG The old Generation, a better title. Seems to show a real lack of imagination, they started with an idea but then seemed to see it was a one trick pony. Typical of Amercan shows they keep on milking it while the fans love it, so had to come up with some thing else, and the only thing they could think of was TNG. There should only have been one season of Picard rather than this iteration of TNG. But $ talk I suppose while the viewing firgures are good ( or stewart dies)

Re: Star Trek: Picard

I couldn't even make it through the first 4 episodes of abomination that was Picard Season 1, if they have to get the old TNG band back together to make it watchable then I'm all for it. I'm really enjoying this.

I guess for merc, the old saying, if you don't like it, don't watch it applies?

your comment makes me wonder if that is why things have panned out the way they have. The producers lost their nerve and went back to a winning formula. I rather like the old fogeys ensemble show, seeing them all old and wrinkled, the last hurrah! lol

Merc, if I was to look up the word "troll" in a dictionary, would it just say "See Merc"?
