Re: The Last of Us [Drama, Adventure, Thriller, Horror]
Ep 7 was a drag, Not only do I hate cliffhangers, but being forced to watch 50min of past uninteresting drama instead of a conclusion and follow-up is bullshit. It's hard to get invested in past drama, when all you want to know is the present.

Interesting... I don't mind that if it's not done in a bad way, like pretending something happened 10 years ago but everybody looks exactly the same.

Re: The Last of Us [Drama, Adventure, Thriller, Horror]
Show has become lame... with only two episodes left the only interesting thing we've seen so far is that mega mushroom man thing and a hoard of mushroom people kill a bunch of normal people. Was this game even fun? I never played it but based on the show - I can't see why I would have wanted to play. Is there anything going to happen that I should be excited for? Or is it just going to be a bunch of people exploring their sexuality?

Love the review. Until I realized that I feel the exact same way. That is the biggest problem when you have shows with only 10 episodes and the plot moves like molasses in winter.

EP05. In general EP7 was just meh. So much drama, so little story progression. It would have been fine for a 10 minute recap but not for a whole episode. merc wrote:so are opinions going downward?
Mixed. EP1 and EP2 were quite nice. EP3, I did enjoy... maybe, like EP7 the drama dragged out bit too long. EP4 and EP5 quite good. EP6... alright, EP7 boooooooring.

Re: The Last of Us [Drama, Adventure, Thriller, Horror]
ah eps 5 the mushroom/fungus people that was funny better than your typical zombies who just amble along and who are a threat to no one. and the big one lol. so is that the best eps of the lot? the rest of the eps was not worth the bother

Just finished the game. Excellent, definitely up there with the best story driven games I've played.
2020. Meh.

Yeah, people should just watch a Let's Play of the game rather than this zombie telenovela.

Re: The Last of Us [Drama, Adventure, Thriller, Horror]
While we are at this, could someone give me a minute by minute review of Band of Brothers and The Sopranos so I’ll know which episodes / scenes to skip so I can get the story I think should be told rather than what the creators want to tell? /s

Re: The Last of Us [Drama, Adventure, Thriller, Horror]
I thoroughly enjoyed TLOU from start to finish. Owner of one the most beautifully written, supremely acted, masterfully crafted episodes I haven't seen in a very long time. Episodes 1-5: 8.7/10 | Episodes 6-9: 7.5/10 afaic. The weakest episode of the season was probably 107, Left Behind. It was still a good episode, and Bella Ramsay was great in it, but I felt as though the time spent in that episode would have been better suited elsewhere. A perfect ending to a superb season of television that sets a new standard, not just for video game adaptations, but for adaptations in general. Overall I would give this season an 8.5/10. The pacing is fantastic, the characters are compelling, the tension is palpable, and the emotional payoff is brutal. Looking forward to the second installment.

I pretty much agree, scorpius074, I give the season 8.3/10. A deeper exploration of Cordyceps/ more interaction with aggressive Cordyceps hosts would have been nice. Not necessarily at the intensity level of (awesome) season two of https://next-episode.net/black-summer, but a bit more.

Re: The Last of Us [Drama, Adventure, Thriller, Horror]
Well, the last episode was a bit anti-climatic, even though nicely done. Would have been a good mid-season episode but certainly nothing which provided some closure or even opened up a new season I am eager to see. For once, nice not to end in a dramatic cliff-hanger... but building up a bit more to look forward to would have been nice. In general I enjoyed the first season. It did show very well that a great scenery and two strong actors can carry an really weak story line and slow pace. Overall 7/10 for the "fresh experience" but on my "watch in a few years again" index more like a 2/10.
