Topic: Wednesday
https://next-episode.net/wednesday
Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy. That's where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago - all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.
From eps 1 looks good & starts well. Only 8 episodes so maybe worth a look & as it is Netflix can watch them all in a sitting or two

Re: Wednesday
I was looking forward to this, hope it will be good, it's a sin to mess up Addams family story.

the show has some nods to Harry Potter and Hogwarts and Legacies. I am enjoying it so far. Some lovely characters. Wednesday her self is spot on

Re: Wednesday
the only issue I have is that the Wednesday character in the shows mainly consists of just mannerisms and turning her into a full blown person can be jarring and a challenge and her behaviour maybe get a bit old and silly?

Re: Wednesday
i really enjoyed the first episode - will try to watch the rest during next week. I just really hope it doesnt take a turn for the woke... i mean, for the worst. No need to change it from its current trajectory, its enjoyable as it is.

Yeah, there in the first ep already was at least one woke injection - he.. or her, would be epic if on that also Wednesday would spit out some comment, but it's Netflix, must be happy this was not trashed from the 1st minute.

Hmmm, not for me.... too much teen drama. Jenna Ortega is doing a great job... but the rest of the show.... meh.

"silly" as in "absurd, no one can be really like that"

Well, yes. And a ripped into pieces guy in the woods, ... tadadada. But even those moments of dark humor are just not "adult" enough for me. The amount of obnoxious teenage boys and girls on screen (and I absolutely cannot stand Gwendoline Christie) is just too much for me to stomach. The one or other snarky comment from Wednesday doesn't save that. I get the point in a dark comedy, and some of them I love like Ash vs Evil or the first 2 seasons of What We Do in the Shadows. But this one is just too teen-netflixy for me.

No idea.... never had the courage to even try to peek into a Miss Marvel episode. The teen content in additional to ridiculous costumes meant "hard pass!" for me. I mean, I do not hate all shows with kids or teens. I really enjoy "Let the right on in" or even "Stranger things". Hell, even - the one and only - Buffy, Friday Night Lights, etc. But the newer ones... like Resident Evil or this one.... teens, mixed with wokeness and modern social media lingo like "Insta" and whatever.... unbearable.

Re: Wednesday
Yeah, by ep 3 we already have arrived to gender neutral toilets, mansplaining and whitewashing, Netflix is ultra woke clownade, but they are not capable to dilute the darkness of Addams family Imo, teenagers in this one are bearable - unbearable were in Resident Evil, The Walking Dead: World Beyond and alike.

I just finished the first season. I really liked it, it was very well done from the acting to the brilliant musical score.

Naah, at first I also thought so, but after watching all, I'm confident they sprinkled the mandatory keywords There also they managed to squeeze in the classic "climate crisis", "you can't say that, it's offensive", "female objectification" and "wolfing out" stuff pretty sure was some gay agenda barely hidden between the lines. After Netflix will go bankrupt, looking forward reading how this circus was systematically organized.

Oh, wait…. I have only seen the first episode. Do the woke start injecting their agenda in episode three? If so, thanks but no thanks. I’m out.

Ffs - fed up! Why can’t we just have good shows without a woke or political agenda!? I think I will subscribe to The Daily Wire for some regular content…. Once they start producing it that is. I am not sure what they currently have, but I pray that it will be an escape from the Netflix’s and Disney+’s of the world.
