Topic: Hide unwanted "Airs on" channels?
Is there an easy way to hide sources. For example, I'll never get Apple+, yet it takes up much of the suggestions, trending, etc. Not finding a way to hide streaming sources that I'll not get.

Good idea! Could be a sister category to https://next-episode.net/settings?action=whatifollow - maybe "what I hide"? @santah: that new category could also list all the shows one chose to hide "from Homepage, Browse and Top Charts", which are currently shown at https://next-episode.net/settings?action=general. Some shows you might <3 too: https://next-episode.net/messiah https://next-episode.net/devs https://next-episode.net/ted-lasso https://next-episode.net/the-outsider

My initial reaction is to dismiss it as something very niche, not very many people will want to hide whole channels from the site (especially super prominent ones with good content like Apple TV+), but I'll think about it some more. All input is welcome - from as many of the users reading this as possible. Re: Hide unwanted "Airs on" channels?santah wrote:
I've never wanted to hide Apple TV+, but I wanted to hide every single show from (stations located in) Turkey, South Korea and Japan many, many times. Agreed, some of the foreign (to me) channels would be nice to hide. For example, Japanese Anime is OK (generally), but the Chinese ones are awful - would be nice to ignore them. DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".
http://xkcd.com/488/ Re: Hide unwanted "Airs on" channels? Its something I would be interested in as well. Being able to block some of the foreign language channels and even perhaps better known channels like Lifetime. Re: Hide unwanted "Airs on" channels?I know this is an old thread, but I went looking to see if I was missing a setting... I would love to be able to hide channels - or easier - only show specific channels I select in some setting. I get suggestions for channels in different countries that I don't want to go through the hoops to watch. It would be great to only see the shows on services that I choose. I know other services, like JustWatch, have this ability. Re: Hide unwanted "Airs on" channels? There are a couple of concepts mixed up here. "channels" and "services" Next Episode has a "channel" to each series (the "airs on" part), which it can be browsed and filtered by in the top charts and the browse section. It also has a "stream on" services availability for shows with such availability. Do you want to include only or exclude "services" or "channels" and which page on the site do you want them hidden from so I can better imagine what is being requested here? The top charts? The browse section? The calendar? Cheers! Re: Hide unwanted "Airs on" channels?I'm sure I'm getting "channels" and "services" mixed up - and say everything is a channel... (As I've written this post, I still don't understand the distinction between channel and service - as things that you call channels, are also services in my mind (ie, Amazon Prime Video - listed as a channel in your Browse page and I'm able to follow it as a channel - but on the show page for The Boys, it says "streams on" - so does that make it a service? To me it's a service. ) To me, things like ABC, Fox, CBS, MTV, HGTV - are channels. Hulu, Paramount+, Discovery+ (now Max) are services those channels can be seen on. It gets tricky when it's a service only show - like The Handmaid's Tale - can only see it on Hulu, or The Boys, which can only be seen on Amazon Prime. I'm actually really confused about channel vs service now... But, it seems if I follow channels, and then if the site would filter (site wide) to just the channels I follow, it would solve the issue. But I'm not a power user - I mostly use the home page to see yesterday, today and tomorrows shows - and I have it set to show me the first episode of a brand new show. That's mostly where I'm seeing shows I don't want. Today it shows me "Judge Me Not" - and it "Streams On" ALLBLK. I don't get that service - so I wouldn't want to see any shows from that service. But also - on the Hot Shows page is The Lazarus Project. it "airs on" Sky Max, UK - again, I don't have access to that channel - so I would not want to see that show listed. So it really doesn't matter to me if it's a channel or service - if it's something I don't have, I would like to exclude them - probably site wide - but I mostly only use the Home page. Re: Hide unwanted "Airs on" channels?I want to give my 5 cents here. I don't watch any Korean shows and when I once a month go through the "Upcoming" list, half of it is Korean shows (both live and anime). I can't cut out all non-English shows because I am from Norway and I want to see shows from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark in my list. I don't "follow" any channel etc. because I don't want to miss something good, but I KNOW I won't see any Korean. Not a big thing for me, but I would be happy if that feature was implemented.
