Topic: Money Heist airing order issues

I know that the whole airing order thing for Money Heist is a hot mess (to say the least), but the way it's done here manages to be even more confusing. big_smile

TVDB shows two separate airing orders, the main one being the original series order (which has 15+16+10 episodes in 3 series), and a secondary one being the new and "improved" Netflix order (which has 13+9+8+8+10 episodes in 5 series). Basically Netflix re-edited the original first 15 episode series into 22 episodes in two series.

What Next-Episode displays, however, are four series numbered 1, 3, 4 & 5 (no No. 2) which have 15+8+8+10 episodes, and which fits with neither the original nor the Netflix airing order.

Now since what MOST people will be watching is going to be the Netflix edit of the series, and that is what is available online, I think Next-Episode should display the 5 season Netflix order. The 15 episode first season just doesn't exist for most people.

Just to add a bit to why the order is as it is here (as it also is on TVMaze).

It tracks the original airing (Season 1) up until it got part of Netflix, and it tracks Netflix's order from then on.

I'm sure it's confusing and this show always caused confusion ever since Netflix decided to mess with Season 1 episodes length and season numbering.

Now, that said, I wonder if "fixing" it to match the Netflix listing will cause more trouble than it'll solve.

I'm not even sure we can switch to thetvdb alternative listing without some heavy changes on our backend.

Re: Money Heist airing order issues

I acquired these last week and the Netflix versions were the only ones I could find (guess I waited too long). I figure I'll just watch them in the order I have them then mark them all watched on the episodes page when I'm done. I wouldn't think it would matter enough to do a lot of behind the scenes work, but then I'm not one who reads episode descriptions very often.

I doubt there would be more trouble, considering *most* of the planet only has the Netflix versions available.
But it's definitely not that big of a deal, to warrant messing with the back-end, and to my knowledge this is the only show to have this highly specific problem, so it's easy to live with it.

As mrverene says, I'll just mark all of season 1 as watched once I've finished season 2, and then the rest it correct.

Side-issue FYI: Got no notifications for the replies to this post. Has happened before, but got fixed automatically if I remember correctly, so I'm assuming it'll fix itself again now. smile
