Flash has been renewed for S09 Add Superman and Lois on the list and it's all good. ...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves. Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2021-22 SeasonSure that show Legends of Tomorrow had gone on for a while and perhaps it was done and people wanted to move on but still odd to see CW cancelling one of their better rating shows when they have so many more shows with much worse ratings. They have ten shows with worse ratings, and only five with better. I have never seen it i just follow tv show ratings a bit. 229 2022-05-02 11:42:49 (edited by merc 2022-05-02 11:43:50)Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2021-22 Seasondofus wrote:
Trouble with Legends it was not given a proper ending. ▼Spoiler Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2021-22 SeasonI'd say they cancelled it because they ran out of ideas for it years ago but Flash getting renewed debunks that theory 231 2022-05-02 12:14:44 (edited by merc 2022-05-02 12:20:35)Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2021-22 Seasonmrverene wrote:
re the Flash - part of the problem I just do not like any of the actors in the show!!!! flash himself, his wife, their inlaws and sidekicks I think a great shame was Impulse not getting a 3rd season. I understand they tried to find a new home but failed. That surprised me. It was one of the better shows, I came to just a few months ago Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2021-22 Seasonmerc wrote:
That is just insulting the audience when they do that with shows that have had several seasons to prepare a proper ending. Of this TV Culling: We lost some series I thought to be excellent and will be greatly missed (by me) together with some, I admit, I watched in hopes they would get better... For in the end I do love me some good programs and sure there are plenty of choices still out there however this does feel like a moment; a major network up for sales, Netflix hemorrhaging subscribers so badly they are considering a commercial level, broadcast/commercial television trying to keep up with steaming while new streaming services changing what series means all while viewers ways of watching and tastes are evolving... Not to mention what COVID did to the entertainment industry. Questions like 'what will TV become?' as well as 'what is streaming turning into?' come to mind now. But 'what of all these great folks who worked so diligently, and in many cases so competently, to bring that entertainment to the viewers?' and of course 'what of those franchise characters we have come to know so well?' We can see folks like Juile Plec already working on new projects and I do wish all those who worked on my favorite (and not so favorite) series great luck going forwards I do think this mass cancelation from CW and the myopic choices of services like NETFLIX with it's manic-depressive style of greenlighting/canceling series [Russian Doll now too folks?!]. It just fells to me like we're at a moment in entertainment where, perhaps one day, others may look back at and say, "That's where it all began to change." The REAL question, the one I feel we all want to understand, is just: What will happen next... Will we all be moving to streaming or will streaming just become a reflection of broadcast television? I have an app that gives me original LIVE tv with channels I recognize from youth in addition to those which just seem to play just one show or type of show all day long. These seem to be the days when we begin to answer how we will consume media going forward and what kind of media we will get... Will series be mini-movies like with DISNEY+ is doing with Star Wars and MARVEL or fun wild organic series like what the CW and FOX has been doing on broadcast/commercial services? Is there room for multiple options? I don't know the answers to any of these... all I know is that many of the most interesting and welldone series with many strata of viewers seem to be going away and not everything taking their place seems to be at the same level. While I'm sure there will be more series doing great jobs in the years to come I wonder how different those programs might be and where I'll be able to watch them especially as, on top of these everything, television series already seem to have given up the pretense of not copying themselves. Viewers knew they did, we just pretended that all those hospital series were completely different but even that type of things is fading out. So, instead of Dark Shadows taking us to Buffy taking us to True Blood taking us to The Vampire Diaries we just get a reboot of Hawaii Five-0 or Walker. We already live in a world where more viewers recognize references to references rather than the original the gag is calling back to. Years ago viewers were indoctrinated into a history of television gags, tropes and characters so much so that many of those 'classic' concepts began to reference itself or try to seem subversive by deviating from the established norms. These days few younger viewers come to understand the zany antics of Lucy or the seemliness, if breakneck, changing of tone that was blowing through the adventures of Mary Tyler Moore gang. And if they do ever even see Charlie (from Always Sunny) doing some of his best jokes, not knowing Joey (from Friends) did a lot of the same things years before, they'll most likely never know the joy of watching Ted (from TMTMS) set the bar for most of them or Gomer Pyle (from Andy Griffith) pretty much the setting the standard for all that kind of schtick. What is going to happen next?! This turned into more of a diatribe than a lament so I would understand if it gets moved to a different string but I do hope other users respond with their takes/thoughts... the loss of so many good (and some not-so-good) shows has gotten me down but also made me more interested it the state of the industry today. I hope some others, for whom this is also on their minds, care to share your thought/opinions... even if those opinions start with, "You're crazy" 235 2022-05-24 08:30:31 (edited by merc 2022-05-24 08:40:31)Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2021-22 Seasonso Legacies is gone. So will they or wont they get back together? You know who I mean? Not suprised about Charmed. When they start giving the normal characters special abilities you know some thing is desperate - this happened in Batwoman and esp Supergirl. I am surprised Riverdale or The Flash are not on the list. I will miss Legacies though 236 2022-05-24 09:06:04 (edited by TheFizza 2022-06-06 04:57:17)Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2021-22 Seasonmerc wrote:
Well according to this link Legacies and Roswell EP Says Season Four Finales Were Designed as Series Finales Before Cancellation! Also while they pushed FLASH until like 2023, I do believe it is supposed to be the last season. [UPDATE 6/6/22 - I was just informed it is actually likely there will be two more seasons of FLASH.] Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2021-22 SeasonAww, I enjoyed this kid show.
