While its still very progressive, at least they aren’t doing the usual thing and belittling every white male character and making them look completely incompetent and/or the villain.

So far, to me, this is what “woke” content should look like. Actors from all parts of the world, a good mix of genders etc but blatant identity politics isn’t the focus of the show, the actual story is.

Tbh, with Kurtmans record, I wasn’t even going to bother but I gave episode 1 a go and I’m actually guardedly hopeful for the rest of the series.

One point is why he says "To boldly go where no one has gone before", whereas the original was "...where no man has gone before".  If they really wanted to keep it before the original, it should have been kept

Where does this sit in the timeline of the entire franchise?  Before or after ST:Enterprise.

Did anyone else think that the space suits they were wearing look a lot like the Discovery ones too?

Chronological order should be (correct me if I'm wrong somewhere) (disregarding non-permanent time travel):

Enterprise ---> "The Cage" (original ST pilot, 1965, Capt. Pike) -> Discovery (earlier seasons) -> Strange New Worlds -> TOS -> The Animated Series -> TOS movies --> TNG -> DS9 -> Voyager -> TNG movies [-> Lower Decks (non-canon IIRC)] --> Picard ----> Discovery (later seasons)

(Not sure if Prodigy fits in there.)

Hmmm, well that episode (s01e03) was boring.  Too much preachy anti-racism crap.  Again.  Do they think we can't see through it?  Yes, racism is a bad thing.  Yes, it's wrong to pre-judge people purely on their race, yes, we shouldn't stereotype people and generalise, blah blah, woke, blah.  Yawn.

I bet if you look at the old S.T eps you will find some thing like this before? Why it was boring. My suspicion is this series will not break any new ground. Maybe time to put S.T  back in the closet
