After watching the first episode I can't wait to see more. The acting was pretty top-notch and the story is intriguing and fun. It will be really interesting to see where the writers are going with this. Definitely worth putting on the watch list.

Indeed , S1x01 was interesting. Even the premier for up coming episodes looks promising.

Seeing https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10758074/ratings/ makes me wonder if the show is controversial in some way?

I think the whole woke thing has reared its ugly head.  Again.

2020.  Meh.

Even with that I quite enjoyed it and will watch a couple more episodes before I decide.

I wouldn't really call it woke, ok the lead is played by a black man who IMO does a bloody good job. Now Star Trek Discovery, that's woke.

Re: The Man Who Fell to Earth [Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi]

This review by Roxana Hadadi over on Vulture captures my thoughts really well.

Even back when Alias was on, the split timeline was only episodic and not series wide, which left something to the imagination, and here, it deflates the suspense and completely takes me out of the fiction.  Well acted, well captured, interesting premise, but because of the split timeline I'm bored and I'd rather get my alien fix from Ancient Aliens.  Also, the plot of the pilot is derivative of Smallville, just dumber.

Hard pass.

I thought the first episode was OK.
Definitely not woke

1x1. Not woke, not awesome, but totally good enough to keep watching!

1x2 brought it all more together! I now give the show a 8/10. smile

And not only the IMDb rating has improved (and I'm sure it'll continue to do so)... Here, the show enjoys a 3.91/5 rating now. smile

Yep, looks like it's getting there. I'll definitely keep watching.

Re: The Man Who Fell to Earth [Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi]

This is probably one of my favourite shows I'm currently watching.  Has a real Starman feel about it, which I'm a big fan of.  Very ironic. Or coincidence?  Hmmm...

2020.  Meh.

Yeah, this and https://next-episode.net/outer-range currently are my favorite shows. smile

Spoiler

Lighting up some buildings in London at the end of 1x3 didn't make sense physically, but I forgive them. cool

1x4. Well... The acting was good, but the content was kinda depressing. Too much drama for my taste, and not enough plot advancement.

This show has really suprised me how good it is thus far. Some hilarious moments and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. Unless this show goes off the deep end into a pool of misery, I'm hooked.
