When a cast members isn't needed anymore (or is left in the past), doesn't it make sense for them to not return in the next season? Also, often there are scheduling conflicts. Maybe Alison Pill was needed elsewhere? merc wrote:paisley1 wrote:One look at Wil Wheaton's stupid face and I'm laughing. Knee jerk reaction. Doesn't matter what. So, every show that's boring should add Wil Wheaton, as far as I'm concerned.
Didnt he also turn up in an eps of the Big Bang Theory in a monkey suit. It seems these cameos are the only parts he gets these days?
Or maybe Wil Wheaton doesn't want/ need to act any more than he does?

Re: Star Trek: Picard
I found season 1 very disappointing and almost gave up. I am glad I did not. I really enjoyed season 2 and looking forward to season 3.

Re: Star Trek: Picard
3x1: Loved it! Feels like an increased budget, I hope the whole season will be this good.

Re: Star Trek: Picard
Did they just do a soft reboot and removed most of the boring cast? I cant remember how S02 ended. Too bad they didnt get rid of the junkie as well.

Re: Star Trek: Picard
I thought 3x1 rather dull. May be they should have released 2 eps?

Re: Star Trek: Picard
This is surprisingly much better than earlier seasons so far. What have changed behind the scene?

Borrowing the rhythms that made TNG famous, this is one of my favorite outings from Picard yet. Here's an interesting read... 5 Key Ways The Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Premiere Already Improves Upon Prior Seasons

Re: Star Trek: Picard
Unlike you lot I think so far this is a dud ▼Spoiler . recipe= take famous, much loved characters from the good Star Trek (of yesteryear) in their final outing, depend on their prescence to ooh and ahhh people then deliver a badly thought out show with a senile Picard who is an Admiral Emeritus taking charge and shooting at an enemy who clearly high on some thing including his/her/its own superiority, just because he, Picard looked into Crushers weepy eyes and saw that the young man was his son, ignoring the fact that this was not his ship and probably he was going to get them all killed THEN lift a tactic from past Star Treks/Sci fi and shoot off into a dust cloud or some thing - all so clichéd - and we know what will happen next as we have seen it all before. Great for the Trekkies here!!! I hope it gets better

scorpius074, thanks for the link! merc, your opinions have become a very useful tool. Most shows that you like are bad, and vice versa. I enjoyed watching 3x2, and loved this (non-verbatim) line: "I know you are not working for that guy, ..."
▼Spoiler "...because HERE IS HIS HEAD!" *grabs head*

Re: Star Trek: Picard
302, uh, only one question: Where's Wil Wheaton in all of this? He's a conspicuous absentee given the story line.
▼Spoiler Wouldn't it be great if Wesley's been estranged from Beverly this whole time too, and he finds out he has a half brother with a fairly thick British accent, lolz.

▼Spoiler ah if I was Picard I would want a parentage test before I start putting my life & others on the line for some one elses kid, as he clearly didnt get the accent from Picard? Picard must be senile for that thought not to have occured to him. You can imagine what the scene should have been. "Hey bad alien can you wait a few ticks until I have found out whose kid this is?"

▼Spoiler What are you on about with that accent? Way I understood it, the guy reminded everyone around him of young Picard because of his arrogance. His mother later confirmed it non-verbally by exchanging looks with Picard, and again by not correcting him when he says it out loud. No mention of any accents...

I can't say that I always wished that for him, but it totally works for him.
