Just watched the movie on Sunday but I had to think where have I seen this...

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

No, tell me more.

I wonder how many hidden references there were in 2x4, I noticed this one:

Spoiler

Dixon Hill was mentioned, clearly a reference to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixon_Hill smile

Re: Star Trek: Picard

105 was really good, and in general I like how the episodes have all been moving the story forward without a lot of wasted time in season 2, other than the premiere.

133

Re: Star Trek: Picard

well eps 7 season 2 was a bit disapointing

Spoiler

too much time wasting filler with Picards inner life

134

Re: Star Trek: Picard

Agreed, definitely a filler episode.

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Re: Star Trek: Picard

there were more references to "The Voyage Home"

Spoiler

- a) The lady medical doctor being brought into the know about who they are and being shown the space ship - will she end up going back to the future as in the Voyage Home? b) Cristóbal "Chris" Rios then explaining "he only works in space" not coming from Space which she had queried?

Re: Star Trek: Picard

Definitely a bottle episode, but not particularly cheap as most bottle episodes are.

Re: Star Trek: Picard

Anyone else notice Gaius Baltar showing up and acting a lot like Gaius Baltar?  I was half expecting Caprica Six to make a cameo.

@Suasor, shouldn't bottle episodes like this be illegal when you only make 10 episodes per season?  Overall though, I didn't mind it.

I did an approx timing of the internal Baltar rubbish - about 20 minutes out of 46 minutes. who ever made that decision should be fired. This aint Shakespeare. I think the shipmate lady in red is the Caprica 6 standin showing her assets

hmm maybe there should be mini series - The borg v the cyclons. A cross over in Marvel fashion

If there were 26 episodes in a season that was more procedural, I'd be fine with the 20 minutes of Baltar exposition into Picards psychology, but with 10 episodes and being serialized, it's an unwelcome change of pace.  The devolution of the Q continuum is far more interesting to me at this point in the story, and I think they're doing a great job there.

Re: Star Trek: Picard

2x7... yeah, not a fan of the first two thirds.

The only thing I really enjoyed was James Callis in the psychologist role. Instant https://next-episode.net/battlestar-galactica flashback! big_smile

Re: Star Trek: Picard

@Lighton, what he brings up about Picard I think is important and perhaps pivotal in some way to plot, but getting there was jarring, pacing wise.

I agree, with all of that. smile

I also agree with your spoiler that you've now removed for some reason. cool

still not worth 20 minutes nearly half the show. pretty poor hackneyed drama it was how ever you look at it: dark  dungeons and monsters yeah really? very unimaginative...

I just had a look at eps 1 and it seems that this sequence was fortold there within the first 5  or so minutes. should have known...

Re: Star Trek: Picard

@Lighton, I removed it because I figured nobody gives a sh!t, as it's explained in the show what's going on with Agnes and the Borg, and all I really want to say about the chemical control going on is that it's pretty weak and dumb, but also a very standard Star Trek premise, so I'm ok with it.

@merc, well you could go back even further as the stuff about Picards mind is really from the season 1 finale and about Picard's "transfer" if you will, which I think may have something to do with the Q continuum problems.

Re: Star Trek: Picard

In 107 & 108, Temporal Integrity Commission Agent Lieutenant Ducane, shows up as an FBI agent.  Not sure if it's just a happy accident or an homage to Jay Karnes' previous Star Trek Voyager character, but either way, it was good to see him. I suggested this back in my comment about episode 203, ie., where the crap is the Federation Starship Relativity?

As for the rest of 108, it was a lot of repetitive exposition, executed in a sedative way...zzzzzzzzzz....the melatonin episode.  Though, Raffi did coin the term "Borgify", lolz. wink

also "borg-up". yes now 2 eps in a row with lots of dull moments.

Spoiler

why introduce the cop at all, he arrests then releases them, serves no other purpose?

Ya, lol, she used a bunch of borgisms.  As for your spoiler comment, if it's not setup for something else, ya, utterly pointless.

The cop is an ancestor of... someone.  Have a read up on him.
