Re: Features/Improvements Requests
I hope it hasn't been requested yet, did a search in the forums but couldn't find anything. Possibility of Auto-added tags?, I'd love to see the addition of for example auto-add all shows on my watch list which are from Netflix to a "Netflix" tag, so I have a easy overview of the shows found there (and Amazon Video, etc) without having to manually add them first to my watch list, then to a buch of seperate lists after that.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Hey santah, so this may just be a stupid idea, but it's been bothering me so I thought I'd ask: Is there any programmable way to set a time difference based on the *type* of publishing platform, instead of / in addition to the global setting for the site? What do I mean? See this pic:
Being in Iceland, I'm GMT +0, but obviously most TV airs on either side of the Atlantic. For me, there are three distinct types of platforms:
US streaming services US broadcast TV Japan streaming services
US streaming usually happens after midnight, somewhere in the early AM US time, which is early morning for me. US broadcast TV is sometime after dinner, which is after midnight for me, while I sleep. Japan streaming is again usually somewhere in the early AM Japan time "tomorrow", which is around dinner time "today" for me. So for me to access the shows according to the schedule, both the Japanese and US streaming services land on today (mostly), but all of the US broadcasting services land on tomorrow. So.. ideally, I would want to move all the US broadcast TV stuff a day back, but keep all the streaming stuff on today. Makes sense? Obviously there are all sorts of variation in when shows are aired, with not all of them being in the same slot, but this is the general layout, so if this setting were possible, the schedule would certainly be far more correct than it is today.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Hm ok, as both the setup and what you want to achieve is kinda complex, what I suggest is playing with your timezone settings here: https://next-episode.net/settings?action=cUserInfo and to use or not to use the timezone here: https://next-episode.net/settings?action=airdates and see if there is a timezone that satisfies your needs?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Yeah, thanks, I figured as much, but none of the timezone settings really help me because they obviously move the US streaming and US broadcast TV in the same direction, and those are what I need to split apart, without losing the Anime stuff. But then again, I don't really care as much the anime stuff, because I use anidb for that.. hmm. I'll try again to mess with all the settings and see if I can get at least a better result. By the way, another thing that's always bothered me, but I guess is just a personal preference: "Today" is always in the "Future" column. To me, at least, it makes much more sense to have today in the "Past" column. I mean, I do all this work in the evenings when I come home from work, so most of the TV is already out then. And at the end of my day when I go to sleep, when all the shows of today are out, they're still in the "Future".

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Hm yeah, splitting those apart is going to be tough and will require too much changes in the way the site behaves and calculates things and you understand why it isn't going to happen. As for 'Today' - playing with the timezone should fix at least that for you, no?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
enhance Calendar listings for x01 episodes? Might it be possible to highlight the first episode (or a series, or a season) in the web calendar? Possibly just putting the title text, or the episode number text, in reverse (aka a colored background)? My DVR goofed up and lost ALL of it's series recordings last week. Therefore I have to pay very close attention to the calendar here to catch all the fall premier dates so I can re-add the series recording. to my DVR My DVR doesn't let me create a series recording for a show that has no episodes airing in the next 14 days so this will be an ongoing rebuilding.

Something like that would be good... What I do is this: around every first of the month, I search the https://next-episode.net/calendar/ for "x01" and "eps" to find all the shows that start in that month. Auto-highlighting those "new season beginnings" somehow or listing "watchlist shows with season beginnings" somewhere would be great, and I read others here would welcome something like that too.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Within the "Browse"- and "Top Charts"-sections for shows and perhaps also for movies: It would be very nice if there was buttons for hiding/x'ing(don't know the term you use) whole genres, like for instance I don't watch a ton of genres like "animations", "comedy", "crime" etc so I'd just like to hide them all away with a few clicks rather then having to go through 50 pages.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Good Morning. I know I suggested this before, but can there be a way to select the <tag> watchlist when selection the show to be watched? On the same screen that you get the information of the show is it possible to add the Tag for where this show is to be listed? Also, in the same vein, can the top information be locked so that only the shows scroll? What I mean is for example: Say I select a show called "Z". In order to add this show to one of my lists I have to 1st go to the information page and select that I want to add it to my watchlists. Then I have to go to Watchlist <ALL> and scroll down to the bottom (in this case because the show is called "Z". Then either hit the BACK button or scroll all the way to the top and select the Watchlist/home or whatever action I want to do next. If the "Information Block" was locked then I could select my next Action there. Sorry to be a pain... this is just a suggestion. I can do it the long way. Thanks for "listening".

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Hello. When you add a show to your watchlist, why do you need to go to the watchlist and scroll to it (and then go back)? Why not just stay in the show details page where you added the show from? Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, help me understand your workflow and what you're trying to do here ... Cheers

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Because I scroll to it to set the TAG for where I want the show to appear in the list. IE: I have Current Shows, Catch-up etc.. I set my TAG. You cannot set your tag on the show details page. That make sense.. I hope.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Yes that makes sense. But you cannot set tags in your watchlist as well (unlike what you described). What you're doing is going to the Episodes page (https://next-episode.net/track) and assigning tags there? Cheers

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Ok. Maybe I can explain it better. In order to set a Tag for a show I have to add it to my WATCHLIST .. in this case I selected MONSTER an anime. Then I went to the Details page to see the information on the show and decided to add it to my WATCHLIST. NOW I want to set the Tag I have for ANIME show. So I go to Episodes and Select the Tag ALL. I scroll down to the MONSTER listing and set tag to ANIME. Then I have to Scroll all the way back up to select that Tag. I am suggesting putting a link to Set Tags on the Information page and also LOCKING the 1st ?10? rows on each page to eliminate the need to Scroll back up to do the next action. If you have a lot of shows in the ALL area (which is every unwatched show) then you will have to scroll down to find it and up to do the next action. Hopefully this makes more sense. Sorry to bother you. I think this is an awesome sight and appreciate all that you do!

No I get it. You want to assign tags from the show detail pages and it'll happen! Cheers

Yes. And, I believe, also that the page header stays when scrolling. Like this:
By the way @bcpulse, instead of clicking the ALL "tag" to add tags, I would recommend clicking the NOT TAGGED "tag" instead. That's what I do, because that's always a much shorter list.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Thanks for the Tip about the NOT TAGGED item.... Did not know what that feature did. That makes it a bit easier to look at. At for the header locking... I have used Chrome and Firefox and the Header does not lock for either of these. I will try Edge and IE next. Thanks again!

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
As a new subscriber (Android + web), I don't see a way on the web to mark an episode as "Watched" (nor to see what episodes have been marked as Watched in the app). Apologies if I'm just missing it so far, but if it really isn't there, I'd like to see these added to the web interface.

In the main site menu (where it says News, Home etc) there is an item called 'Episodes'. Click that, and you'll be led here: https://next-episode.net/track Use that page to mark episodes watched and find the "manage watched" link in there to see episodes already marked watched. Cheers!

Ok, I see it. A bit hidden. I was going to Episodes from the Watchlist. Didn't realize the top-level Episodes menu item would take me to a different place. Thanks for the quick response.

You're actually right. I've now made it more clear (by adding a clarifying text in the episodes listings per show).

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
When using the search functionality, can we have the option to use different names for specific shows. For example, the recent Dexter change, when using the search it searches for the new name, however a lot of sites still list it as S9 of the original show. Having an option to use a different search criteria for this show would be helpful. Other examples include a lot of Anime where the English and Japanese names are used by different sites. Thoughts?

Don't see it happening unfortunately as it'd be fairly complex thing to add that very, very small subset of the users will take advantage of ..

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Somehow I never noticed the forums, I usually email my requests. Anyhow, under 'show info' I would like to suggest adding a line for original language. With streaming bring move and move of the world media into the spotlight, and dubs running rampant.. Knowing the original languages of shows I am considering has become quite important to me. Do I get a ping if I receive a reply?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Ping wise, you will if you have subscribed to this thread. As for your request - it was discussed and requested before and that totally makes sense. I've now added the language in show details, but as the vast majority of shows in here are in English, the Language field is displayed only when a language is different than English. As this field was never never exposed before, there may be some issues that need fixing so please let me know if notice any mistakes in shows languages and I'll correct them right away.
