Hanna is a high-concept thriller and coming-of-age drama that follows the journey of an extraordinary young girl as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is. Airs on Amazon.

Re: Hanna [Action, Drama]
I really liked season 1, really hated season 2, and now have mixed expectations about season 3. Season 3 will be the final season, and it will be released in it's entirety tomorrow, Nov. 23, on Amazon. Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9vGzedtnIk Binge it to catch up if you haven't already, 16 episodes, it's an easy watch. Given the series is ending tomorrow, and it's an action show that'll air all at once, there'll probably be little to no discussion, lolz, but let me know your thoughts anyway. ▼Spoiler Too much time wasted on that stupid compound in season 2, it slowed the pace of the show down way too much for me. This show always makes me miss Treadstone, which was amazing, and should never have been cancelled!

Yeah, good show! Though I don't even remember how much exactly I enjoyed season 1 and 2. Yes, most people liking this show will probably enjoy https://next-episode.net/treadstone too - and https://next-episode.net/deep-state and https://next-episode.net/bodyguard.

Ya it's a lot of fun! I couldn't get into Deep State or Bodyguard, or Tehran for that matter, would not recommend. Spy thrillers like Hanna and Treadstone are more like Counterpart and Rubicon. They're all solid 7-8/10 TV shows. The best spy thriller of course being Homeland. My favorite spy thriller mini series is The Company. I enjoyed the slow burn.

Just finished watching S03. One of the best series of this genre. ▼Spoiler the only let-down - hoped that annoying French activist will catch a bullet

Haha, that's pretty funny, and ya, I'm not opposed to your sentiments in the spoiler, and to tack on... ▼Spoiler ...why? Like, why were they after all these people in the first place, they didn't explain the rationale, so the whole season didn't really add up to me, but, at least we got a season.

▼Spoiler There was an explanation - to kill them off while they are small and have not yet managed to deliver a damage Like in this case the French one to annoy the world in Twitter That's what that "algorithm" was about - AI analyses social feeds and identifies future problem childs. Also probably to subtly glorify that such activists are heroes or something like that, just a few shows currently can resist political washing attempts. Plus to make it more loaded it was not just French, it was some French Algerian or something like that

▼Spoiler Well, I got that, but I didn't understand the goal and point of view of the villains and what they'd get out of preemptively killing off people that didn't match their interests, as such villainy is too comic book and fantasy to be a legitimate reason, so much so that the girls quickly turned coat because they're actual people with a conscience and not Uruk Hai from Mordor, lolz. The French activist's worldview makes me wonder what the villains worldview is like, because he seems too typical, harmless, and annoying to be...dare I say it...A Person of Interest...I said it, we've seen this show before, lolz, . I didn't find it preachy, just too weak and derivative of a premise to warrant creating female super soldiers for all those years, the cost to benefit can't possibly justify such an experiment. The other thing I was thinking about, is that they never really made use of the girls femininity like say, Jennifer Garner did on Alias, I know it's the hook, but any one of the trained soldiers around the girls could've done any of the missions the girls did. The end of the show I just said, "that was really dumb."

Re: Hanna [Action, Drama]
▼Spoiler Yes, it's pretty dumb targets and as I said, basically the only logic from writers or their "diversity departments" I can guess is that they wanted to portray "old system" against "new heroes". It make no sense for USA intelligence agency to care much about some activist in France who could sometime in the future maybe achieve some more relaxed immigration for his Algerian relatives or already forgot what bs was his activism about. Also maybe in 2021 it's not a good tone to use the usual targets - like muslim terrorists and other classic bad guys. Tho that actually would make a lot more sense - especially in France if they would show how they identify some immigrant from Morocco who potentially in 5 years will go around stabbing people - but that we cannot show today Here are real life "too late to identify" EU targets: https://eumostwanted.eu/ And it took this dumb turn just in the last season - same as with many other shows where these "fresh vibes" arrives in the latest seasons.

▼Spoiler If it was supposed to be old vs new, I genuinely never got that, it just came off as unpacked and unnecessary from the Chairman's point of view / Shoeless Joe Jackson / Ray Liotta. Not just for going after the French Algerian activist, but also the scientist working on her PH.d. made no sense, why kill progress, what's the end game, it's just too needlessly villainous for it's own sake, like the Joker, it's just too comic book of a premise for the spy thriller genre. Yes, real terrorist threats of people becoming radicalized monsters, that would make sense, (24, Homeland, etc) but ya, if good reasons were hollowed out for a woke message, this is a great example of why such writing and messaging will never work.
