Yes, 33 minutes of much intensity.

What? You couldn't have watched 1x6 without seeing one.

Wrong.

I was being sarcastic lol.

That thing did not bleed?

Re: Invasion (2021) [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi] (Apple TV+)

Spoiler

And was only killed when stabbed with that black shiny stuff that appears to be part of it. As pointed out in the Japanese plotline, this is a very alien alien.

looked like a large chunk of treacle or liquorice  toffee to me the sort that would be broken from a large flat sheet how you make the stuff

Re: Invasion (2021) [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi] (Apple TV+)

I am thinking those things are not the actual aliens, more like a weapon or pest. Like in that modern remake of War of the Worlds they sent in those robotic dogs first.

Appears to be part of it? Then why was it in the back of the car? big_smile To me it looked like black obsidian, but I wanted to know more. I googled it and found a recap saying that her son Luke found this black rock earlier. Oh, yeah, he said so in 1x4 when his sister asked him about it in the motel bathroom. But IIRC it was never shown when or where he found it, right?

Re: Invasion (2021) [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi] (Apple TV+)

well just watched eps 7 and atlast we see the alien what not and a strange thing it is too lol

Spoiler

a black blob on spindly legs that likes  concrete guzzling away on some thing. I was half expecting to hear it burp

Atleast the aliens  dealt with the Taliban ( and every one else in Afghanistan)

Spoiler

the most interesting section was the JAS one where it hints at some kind of collective mind with no physical form. so where does that leave the spiders?

Re: Invasion (2021) [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi] (Apple TV+)

1x8

The episode's name, "Contact", promised more than it delivered IMHO. cool

Still, we got some more info/ details, I didn't feel wasting time while watching. smile

That's fine, but they had to insert that stinky line "who looks like us" big_smile

Overall, imo, a good show.

Re: Invasion (2021) [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi] (Apple TV+)

I am kind of confused as to where this storyline is going. Not sure if they're getting ready to wrap it up and just cancel the series after this season or not, but while it has been entertaining, I feel that the pace of the series and the new shit they're introducing does not fare well with one another.

I mean the progression/pace is utterly slow, but they do introduce a new possibility/branch in each episode.

I love it! big_smile It would suck if it would end with season 1... I can envision several seasons, the show exploring their origin and reason for invading, humanity finding new ways to fight back, etc.

Re: Invasion (2021) [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi] (Apple TV+)

It's a crisis drama with a misleading trailer, I don't expect much action here. As a drama, imo, quite good, love how it shows different mentalities, including inevitable language barrier with Asians, I work with Koreans daily, it's exactly like that big_smile

when I saw it was a show funded by Apple I thought it would be  class show with a well spent high budget. This on the other hand seems to be a budget show with poor cgi.  Goodness know what eps 10 will be about

Re: Invasion (2021) [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi] (Apple TV+)

I enjoyed 1x9. I love that Bowie song when it's used in a sci-fi context, like it was also used here:

VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS Opening Sequence

Spoiler

I hope they'll explain in 1x10 why the "civvies" - who attacked the army transport - did what they did and how they knew about the family being transported.

Ok, cool, let's call it a sci-fi crisis drama with some action sprinkled on top. big_smile

Maybe you just can't appreciate the show for what it is? No problem, tons of other shows out there are waiting for you. IMHO this show doesn't deserve to be binge-watched. And you might be exaggerating just a liiiiiittle bit. cool

You are wrong. The CGI is really good - there's just not as much as you expected. CGI on this level isn't cheap, even if the series was cheaper than the reported $200 million.

But I wont stoop to that level. I am not you.

Do you feel like I was attacking you? I was not, I was stating a fact: when you say that the show is a "turd" and "wait[ing] for a week for every episodes is like being circumcised on a weekly basis", then what else can it mean other that you can't appreciate the show for what it is? (A rather slow show that does not fit your taste perfectly.)

How else do you want to call these 30+ minutes of two Japanese woman love story - a side quest of alien invasion action? Or the heart breaking stories or British kids for almost an episode? Even IMDb lists Drama as main genre for this show.

I didn't mean to critique the label you gave it, I just found it funny. smile

Yeah... I didn't mind the Japanese love story nor the UK kids, but a few minutes less of both and a few minutes more alien story might have been even better. cool

I'm debating with myself if I would prefer that you drop the show (and we get less criticism in the thread) or that you continue to watch it, so we get more hilarious criticism like this one. lol

I loved the close-up shots in 1x9, really alien aliens are quite rare. smile
