Topic: Kevin Can F*** Himself
Kevin Can F*** Himself explores the secret life of a woman we all grew up watching: the sitcom wife. A beauty paired with a less attractive, dismissive, caveman-like husband who gets to be a jerk because she's a nag and he's "funny." Our series looks to break television convention and ask what does the world look like through her eyes? Alternating between single-camera realism and multi-camera zaniness, the formats will be constantly informing one another as we ask what happens when this supporting character is presented as a real person? And what if that person is pissed?
https://next-episode.net/kevin-can-f***-himself Anyone seen this? It's definitely different - a mash-up of a standard multi-camera US sitcom and a single-camera dark comedy. Quite cleverly done, I won't say much else about it other than it's not something I've ever seen done before and I think I like it.
2020. Meh.

Trailer brings back bad memories of the first https://next-episode.net/wandavision episodes. Other than that, it looks good, thanks for sharing! Might check it out in the coming months.

I understood what Wandavison was about, I don't have any "bad memories" of that at all.

Re: Kevin Can F*** Himself
I've seen the 1st episode and it wasn't a huge success for me. I'll give it a few more eps before I decide.
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Kevin Can F*** Himself
I nearly gave up in the first few minutes as anyone that watched it will understand, but then... I like the format. I will continue with this one.

Watched a few episodes, this had an opportunity to be great, but instead it's one more woke garbage how women are suffering from sexism etc. So, Valerie Armstrong can f**k herself and stop exploiting the comedy genre Had to scroll a few seconds till the first feminist messages: https://twitter.com/valarmstrong55 For it to be a comedy, we would need also to see a husbands viewpoint how he is fed up with a wife who is nagging him to go deep into debt to get a new house and alike. But here is just ooh, how the poor wife is feeling in the totally unrealistic sitcom Garbage.

Yeah that's the fucking reason this show even exists. It's taking the piss out of all the 90's 'Comedies' that did exactly this. You don't get it, simple as that. All you morons complaining about 'woke' don't know what it even means lol

The "sitcom" parts are cringeworthy and jarring, they could have been handled in a different way or done without altogether. Her point of view isn't bad standalone and probably would win more fans done in isolation. The attempt at juxtaposition was just not executed well enough. I've gotten thru 2 eps and might just skip the sitcom stuff from here.

Re: Kevin Can F*** Himself
Watched the pilot and it's not for me. The sitcom parts weren't ment to be funny (i assume), to show how bad the sitcoms aka Kevin James were in the 90s (otherwise if they were also ment to be funny aswell, then sorry total failed) but were just annoying and the more serious parts, were just not interesting enough for me, but if they were atleast standalone they would have been bearable to a degree. Then i rather watch Kevin James in "King of Queens" for the sitcom parts and "A Million Little Things" for the serious parts which is imo much more interesting.

Yeah, sure Same reason why ABC passes scripts which don't meet "the new standards".

It's simply not a comedy, sitcom part is not meant to be funny, it's meant to point you to the "issue" and then when you have eaten that, there are some comedy elements in the rest. All together a cringe, maybe it's a comedy in some twisted sense, haha, let's stab Kevin with the broken glass, ahahaha, f****** pig.

It's a show critiquing sitcoms. Do you complain when Marvel movies have superheroes in them? Lmao

Re: Kevin Can F*** Himself
I'm really enjoying it. A real antidote to the 90s shows I grew up watching. I think it's quite clever.

Re: Kevin Can F*** Himself
Yeah this third episode has cemented it for me, i'm in! The way they swap between the 2 story lines, and how they are related but not anything like each other is fascinating to me.

Actually yes when they are done poorly. It was a critique of the poor execution of the juxtaposition not the idea of the juxtaposition.

I agree! It did not go where I thought it was going to go at all. I really enjoy how dark and twisted the show got. I really hope it gets a second season.
