Topic: 5x13

What a nice series finale, 'specially that they needed to think of it right on the spot. Wormholes were fun, the little slander at the network* and it actually being a nice happy ending. It was nice to see Zoe, Taggart and Baltar, even for a moment (although it would be fun if they'd show Stark as a average scientist somewhere in the crowd). Also, as of the end end, I rewatched the beginnig of 1x01 and there are some mistakes in continuuinty, but let's blame the new timeline  for that).

And a "thank you" video from Neil and Colin:

- But it was going so great! Our work has never been better (critic reviews), our performance exceeded expectations... (ratings)
- President (of the network) said that it was a budget issue.
- Does Los Alamos (Alphas) have budget issues, or Area 51 (Warehouse 13)? We paved the way for those guys.
- It's a cruel system. But at least they gave us six more weeks to wrap things up.

Re: 5x13

I am really sad that Eureka is gone. I started this series some years ago when a friend of mine told me "hey, you should totally watch this awesome show. it's been 5-6 episodes so far and it looks amazing". I loved it from the start and have been telling people to watch it ever since. Sadly, I live in Greece and people here have no idea about downloading shows or watching it using other means so nobody ever did.

I remember the day SARAH made me laugh when she was whining at Carter about not keeping his promises.
I remember when Zoe was looking smoking hot with that red she dyed her hair with.
So many good memories.
Goodbye Eureka, you offered me many good times and never disappointed me.

Re: 5x13

It was a good ending considering they had so little time to do it. With the show being cancelled as they were filming episode 12 they pulled it off. The show deserved better from the Network though. With all the long breaks and half seasons through out the shows run. It took 7years to air 5seasons.

It's going to feel weird next summer when Eureka isn't all new. I just hope the actors find new shows soon. I will miss seeing Fargo, Carter, and Jo the most.

It was so good... and so sad to see them go...  but it was a sweet ending they put together for the time they had.  I'm gonna miss this show and all the characters.

Re: 5x13

I really loved the show, and will miss it too.

The guest-stars were a real nice touch, kind of saved the rush-job final episode.

Not mentioned yet was a walk-on by Grant Imahara (the Mythbuster).
Joe calls him Poindexter as he's chasing a wandering toy robot Emo. (About 2:02)

Re: 5x13

Eureka had a lot of fans among show business geeks. I suspect there was an attempt to include the most avid ones in the series finale. Celebrity fans guesting on shows is more and more common.

Re: 5x13

On July 18, 2006 Eureka aired it's Pilot episode and on July 16, 2012 Eureka aired it's final episode "Just Another Day", and 8 years later on August 11, 2020 it finally came out on Blu-ray in North America, and in February of 2021, I finally received my copy.  It's a great feeling to finally have the missing piece to my hard copy TV collection after so many years of waiting.  It's been a blessing and a joy to watch it all over again for the first time since the finale this passed week, now in High Definition with DTS-HD Master Audio.  It's so much better than I remember it, and makes me so sad that it's over.

Given how it ended, there is no good reason to have cancelled it in the first place, and no good reason not to bring it back for 5 more seasons, as there is so much more to discover in Eureka.  The world needs this show again.

Eureka would be #1 on my list for supporting a crowd funded reboot.

Re: 5x13

I rewatched Eureka last summer. It still holds up. Together with Warehouse 13 there could've been more story to tell.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

You're right, it holds up really well.  The use of 'frak' (BSG speak) is the only thing that dates it.  It almost holds up better than BSG, because the silly and comedic tone of Eureka is transferable to any time period, the character studies are universal, and the special effects are still appropriate and don't look bad.
