Topic: The Rookie
The Rookie is inspired by a true story. Fillion plays John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the LAPD. At an age where most are at the peak of their career, Nolan cast aside his comfortable, small town life and moved to L.A. to pursue his dream of being a cop. Now, surrounded by rookies twenty years his junior, Nolan must navigate the dangerous, humorous and unpredictable world of a "young" cop, determined to make his second shot at life count. https://next-episode.net/the-rookie Not sure if many watch this show here, but what can i say i like it. It's not your typical cop show and doesnt feel procederal and therefore i find it very easy to watch, recommended.

Re: The Rookie
Agreed. I've been watching this series since day one, and not a day's gone by where I regretted it. It's fun(ny), witty, doesn't take itself too seriously, and can be rough around the edges when it needs to be. It's on 10,121 peoples watchlists with a 4.43/5 rating (131 ratings) here at next-episode. I definitely recommend it.

All I can say is this is the only "cop" show I've really been committed to over the past year. It's light AND it's heavy, and often leaves me smiling. It's a cool show. Glad to see you posting it and recommending it.

I like it very much too. Likeable characters, and I agree with what you said about "it's light and heavy". Fun watch, and the time flies when watching it. That's usually a good sign.

There's something to fix here...
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: The Rookie
I enjoyed both seasons, the first maybe a little more as it was more about being the Rookie and trainee in spe but you can do that only for so long and in season 2 there were some more serious or thrilling episodes which were not bad either. Maybe the dynamic also changed a bit after Afton Williamson left the show, but her replacement is not bad either.

I'm not saying people shouldn't continue to enjoy it and it's always great to see Nathan working. Unfortunately, for me, it's quality has dropped substantially. And perhaps part of that is that I do have police in the family and a lot of S1 wasn't too off the mark. But, pretty much immediately, in S2 they went from kind of what happens to absolutely not what happens. I can even point out the scene that did it for me. When the office, I think played by Melissa (Portia from Dark Matter) O'Neil, jumped off a building into a garbage bin... IRL she would've been dressed down for that action. And, from my impression of S1, she would've been. Because they were doing a semi-decent job with the police training aspect. Now, however, the sergeant was praising her. That was my Shark Jump for this show and it's sad since, as I said, S1 I loved. I even kept watching it until the mid-season break but when it came back I realized I didn't care anymore. It just became too unbelievable. The world they established in S1, which seemed to be roughly real, had been washed away for this season making it hard for my disbelief to be suspended

If a show is more realistic than others or f.i. respects the law of physics lke the Expanse, kudos and all but that was never a criteria for me if i can enjoy a show or not. The mentioned scene dident even register negative or unrealistic with me but i can see that it might, if you are more involved with the police business and know the ins and outs. Maybe if a show is way over the top it might bother me but even then it could still be funny.

Yep, I think so, a bit nauseating actually. And IMDB user reviewers really think so too. No episodes in season 1 and 2 beneath 8.0. Eps 2-4 in season 3: 6.0, 5.7 and 6.0. All because of PC, Woke and the political agenda. Funny reading the user reviews as well. Lockdown, the latest episode have got a good 8 though. (I will watch it today)

Re: The Rookie
I love season 1 & 2 of The Rookie. This season there is too many "seriously rolling eye moments" I do like the chemistry of the cast so I will continue to watch for now as I do love cop shows.
