very enjoyable. acting seems fine. I have never read the books but do have a BBC dramatised version on cd I have never listened to. I will have to dig them out. The Daily Mail in the UK did a hatchet job on the new series though not liking the anti religeous slant esp as it is broadcast on a Sunday. One criticism made in other places was the matter of the daemons ie there werent enough of them as they should be all over the place. But thats just a money thing? Shame the film bombed as it needs the rest of the story to make any sense. Always a danger.

Season 2 is really good so far! I'm glad I didn't give up in a season 1 low moment.

While I've enjoyed season 2 more than season 1, the season 2 finale felt a bit rushed... like they said "Let's see who else we can kill before the season ends so we can lower the budget for the third and final season a bit."

Agreed, i gave up after a few episodes in season 1, but was curious and liked season 2.
