Topic: The Flight Attendant
\n\n\n Flight attendant Cassandra Bowden wakes in her hotel room hungover from the night before in Dubai with a dead body lying next to her. Afraid to call the police, she continues her morning as if nothing happened, joining the other flight attendants and pilots traveling to the airport. In New York, she is met by FBI agents who question her about her recent layover in Dubai. Still unable to piece the night together, she begins to wonder if she could be the killer.\n\nClick here ---> The Flight Attendant
\n\nJust awesome, has a lot of people you\'ll recognise. A very dark comedy/mystery.

Re: The Flight Attendant
I watched the first episode and thought "meh" and haven't bothered since. Has it got any better I found it stereotypical and a retelling of similar scenarios/series in the past and nothing new?

Yeah, it was already on my list before you started the thread, I want to finish another show or two before I start watching this.

My definition and appreciation of comedy must be different to yours I did not consider the first episode comedic in any way.

Re: The Flight Attendant
I think this show is entertaining and quite good, but i really do not find much comedy in it except for some random absurd line or moment. I find it rather tragic and depressing, the main character has many serious mental health issues she is dealing with. I actually find it rather gripping how they portray her and her issues, like a serious drama would. Other characters also has issues. I would call this mystery-drama.

▼Spoiler I'm still watching, but I am starting to get annoyed by the "talking to a dead guy" stuff... it's too much, and ruins the show more and more...

Who cares if it's funny, it's a soft porn with Kaley Cuoco, what else do you need?

Well... The show is definitely campy as hell and is getting more and more so. By episode 7 I was laughing every few minutes. Michelle Gomez is a legend

Re: The Flight Attendant
I honestly don't think Michelle Gomez has been in anything genuinely bad. This show, though Im not sure how it could, deserves to carry on purely for her character. Spin off?

Re: The Flight Attendant
Since I'm unbiased regarding that Michelle Gomez (needed to look up which one is she), can burst the bubble that she and her character was nothing special here, equally mediocre as the rest, just without soft porn elements

Re: The Flight Attendant
Too soon? Actually this show felt similar as that i-Land or what was the name. Actors could do way better, but something went wrong in writing and directing department. Like, for example, that funny butterfly knife Gomez not so convincingly was wielding And irrelevant storyline detours all over the place - ▼Spoiler some random suicidal criminals in jail, government secrets selling housewives and covert CIA agents

No no.. no the i-Land was much better and entertaining imo. But we are drawing circles here, as tastes are obviously different. I'm still watching The Flight Attendant but it is getting more and more annoying and down from the pilot which was alright.

Lollie wrote:I think you guys are taking this show as serious material, when it's a comedy (a dark and chaotic comedy). And the I-Land was truly awful, you can bet we have different tastes if that's your metric. Mine's like up there with all the good stuff ^ and yours is like down over there in that forgettable hole v
Oh it seems you are in a bit of a mood or better said, it seems you take it a bit personal if someone has a different opinion/taste than you do. Imo the Flight Attendant is targeted more towards women and I-Land more towards guys, but doesn't mean either can't be enjoyed or also disliked by the other aswell. But anyway The Flight Attendant has some nice ideas which get old pretty quickly.

Still haven't found the time to start The Flight Attendant, and yes, https://next-episode.net/the-i-land was a good show! (That could have been even better, sure.) That made me curious... turns out that The I-Land got better ratings from women than from men, same with The Flight Attendant. @Lollie: here, have a hug:

Re: The Flight Attendant
I did not took it seriously, enjoyed it, but, imo, it failed to harvest the potential to be good, I personally fast forwarded over all daddy issues soap opera and half of the hallucinations dialogs. And that Gomez I liked the least, she was trying too hard and that came out for me as fake-ish (but I also know that no sane assassin would use a butterfly ). And still think that actors could do better (similar as in iLand), but they just did what some dumb director/writer told them to do. I could poke holes in plot here for an hour. Also, imo, Cuoco did a good job to salvage what she could. 6/10 from me.

For me, Michelle Gomez will always be Sue White, and there's nothing wrong with that whatsoever.
2020. Meh.

Re: The Flight Attendant
I'm surprised by the amount of coverage they take per episode; it fills every scene and ups the production value. They got time of day and the lighting right even. Kaley's acting chops really shine in this as well. Quirky though, very quirky. The intro is trippy, and very well done. Feels a bit like that netflix series, YOU. Ok, I finished the series, and was really with the show throughout, but the last few minutes of the finale was very heavy handed writing. CIA? Seriously? The Miranda story is a setup for next season, clearly. It went from a 7 to a 6/10 with the writing in the finale. I'll watch another season though.
