Topic: Season 15
It seems the Brothers Winchester will be taking exit 15. Today, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins released a video confirming that the 15th season of Supernatural will also be its final outing. That’s right; it’s official. The Supernatural TV show on The CW will end with season 15. Fans who have been with it from the beginning may remember sweating out the “cancellation or renewal” question every spring in the show’s early years and marvel that we’ve come this far in a black 1967 Chevy Impala.
Source Let's take this moment to take it all in and reflect as we prepare to gear up one last time with the Winchesters as they embark on their final journey this coming fall.

Re: Season 15
I wonder if they will give a spin off series a 3rd try?

This, imo, is the most epic scene from Supernatural https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EcsBgxXDqc

It's very possible showrunners Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer are testing a possible spin-off. Supernatural has attempted this twice, first with the universally panned episode "Bloodlines," which set up a West Side Story–esque plot between the vampire and werewolf clans of Chicago. Then again, in season 13, with the epic "Wayward Sisters" episode, which brought together a group of female hunters Sam and Dean have met throughout the series. Although beloved by fans and critics, The CW declined to pick it up for a full series. Source The third attempt will either be a charm or a collective strikeout. g371 wrote:Right now I have 114 unwatched Supernatural episodes
Jeez, you better get a move on before we really do have autonomous flying cars in our everyday life.

Exactly like me, i also stopped watching Supernatural in season 9 (ep 13) and still plan to watch the rest someday. I heard on Netflix they used different music for Supernatural (atleast for season 1/2), which would be a pitty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ7MRdSrMEA

Re: Season 15
The music from the first season is different due to licensing issues. In season ten, all recaps that play before episodes were edited from the Netflix versions, without explanation from Netflix. Supernatural originally aired on The WB back in '05, and following The WB's merger with UPN in '06, it continued to air on the new network, The CW. The cool thing is that the Supernatural Wiki has an extensive list of every song associated with the series. In regards to the first season, it'll list the original songs as well as the Netflix versions.

That explains it, so Wayward Son which is the unofficial theme song of Supernatural gets atleast played in the later seasons on Netflix then and is not removed entirely, that's good to hear.

I'd actually say it kept getting worse until ~S11. After that I think they managed to pull it up to a fairly decent quality again, where it has been going steady ever since. At some point they apparently just started throwing any idea they could come up with at the wall to see how it would work out and, maybe a few mishaps aside, they managed to actually get in quite a few more entertaining storylines.

Re: Season 15
Well, an interesting start to the final season so far. I liked 15x01 a lot more than 15x02. The season premiere was well-balanced, more entertaining, and much better written IMO. The highlight for me in 15x02 was the backhanded compliment to Game of Thrones delivered by none other than... ▼Spoiler Chuck (aka God) when he visits his sister Amara (aka Darkness) and tries to convince her into helping him travel between worlds. Yes, apparently, God needs some assistance. Chuck/God begins to make small talk by starting with the infamous conversation killer - the final season of GoT. Apparently, the Lord Almighty was a big fan, claiming the ending was "pretty great" and, on the surface at least, this is undoubtedly a compliment. However, IMO, since Chuck/God is so often portrayed as the failed writer type, his acclaim for the final season of GoT is likely intended more as banter than anything else. Game of Thrones' most significant problem was that the finale season lacked the required amount of episodes to do the story justice (thnx again D&D). Supernatural, on the other hand, has more than enough installments remaining to deliver a satisfying final season. At least in theory, as time will tell. So in the meantime, it's time for Eric Kripke & Co. to walk the walk.

Is it worth hooking up with this old flame again? Checked out after a few episodes of the Lucifers boy thing. Just insanely formulaic carry-on and TOTAL simpering chick talk bollocks. Huge hoary great 6 or 7 minute weepy expanses of dialogue with 2 of the 5 main characters having an interminable touchy feely sentimental heartstring tugfest while all the mums at home tear up and clasp their pillows and empty pringles tubes and wish Dean was making their birth hatches all salty with baby using his dirty great big Pringles tube chopper.

I've been asking myself that same question since season six, but here I am at her doorstep, still waiting to break her heart. The show was originally written only for five seasons, and that seemed blatantly apparent to me by season six. There are a few episodes in Seasons 6-10 that are up to the same quality as the first five seasons, but they are few and far in-between. I stopped watching Supernatural midway through season six, but eventually, I came to terms with myself. Typically once I go past five seasons of any show there's no turning back lol. So the questions for me were, can I still enjoy a show when it's fun, even when it is destroying its own continuity in the process? Or can I at least rationalize such a show to myself as an officially-produced non-canon work in order to enjoy it? I stopped taking the show seriously after season five, and now I watch it simply for the humor, action/adventures, flashbacks, monster-of-the-week episodes, and characters. But it sounds to me like you had enough of the Sam & Dean soap opera show. Do you like the show enough to continue dragging yourself through the muck of bad episodes? If you have enough patience to ride out the bad stretches, then it's worth continuing with the show IMHO because that makes you a fan. If not, then my advice would be to break it to her gently and hightail it out of here before it's too late.

Yeah great post. Tried to reconnect but I'm sorry, she just ain't worth the time and effort no more. She used to be a wild fun ride but now she's just all weepy and clingy and nostalgic for days long gone by. I'll tune in for the last episode, maybe the last 2 episodes, out of respect, but the romance, or bromance as the case may be, is well and truly dead.

Re: Season 15
I think it depends on what you watch the show as. It definitely is not the same show that ended after season 5, maybe not even similar to it at all. It has some nice worldbuilding and manages not to run out of its own scope better than a lot of shows I have seen in that genre lately. A lot of the plot is driven by the main characters being inexplicably, sometimes even infuriatingly bad at decision-making, but even there, they spend enough time on character development to make those choices seem believable, which is IMO usually reinforced by decent acting. And for all it's worth, it does move the plot along. If you go in expecting a similar appeal to what it used to have, you will most likely hate the last 10 seasons. Hell, even I think it kept getting progressively worse for a really long time. At some point, however, they seemed to have found a new direction they wanted to take it in and did just that, and it made for a relatively solid show on its own ever since. The last season, so far, seems to be well on its way to be a good conclusion to that. If you do not like the new direction... season 5 had what served as a great conclusion for the show as well.

Re: Season 15
Kinda interesting timing here. The last season has a subplot where God is away destroying alternate universes, using all kinds of means, from meteor to whatnot. Meanwhile, production is halted because in our actual universe the first proper pandemic in decades if not a century appeared around the same time those episodes are airing... So much for immersion.
