I'm amazed how writers have managed to beat this dead horse for so long, I got tired in the middle of the season 9, tho I'm planning to watch it to the end someday Right now I have 114 unwatched Supernatural episodes, I assume they have flying cars by season 13

It's very possible showrunners Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer are testing a possible spin-off. Supernatural has attempted this twice, first with the universally panned episode "Bloodlines," which set up a West Side Story–esque plot between the vampire and werewolf clans of Chicago. Then again, in season 13, with the epic "Wayward Sisters" episode, which brought together a group of female hunters Sam and Dean have met throughout the series. Although beloved by fans and critics, The CW declined to pick it up for a full series.

The music from the first season is different due to licensing issues. In season ten, all recaps that play before episodes were edited from the Netflix versions, without explanation from Netflix. Supernatural originally aired on The WB back in '05, and following The WB's merger with UPN in '06, it continued to air on the new network, The CW.

The cool thing is that the Supernatural Wiki has an extensive list of every song associated with the series. In regards to the first season, it'll list the original songs as well as the Netflix versions.

Well, an interesting start to the final season so far. I liked 15x01 a lot more than 15x02. The season premiere was well-balanced, more entertaining, and much better written IMO. The highlight for me in 15x02 was the backhanded compliment to Game of Thrones delivered by none other than...

I've been asking myself that same question since season six, but here I am at her doorstep, still waiting to break her heart. The show was originally written only for five seasons, and that seemed blatantly apparent to me by season six. There are a few episodes in Seasons 6-10 that are up to the same quality as the first five seasons, but they are few and far in-between. I stopped watching Supernatural midway through season six, but eventually, I came to terms with myself. Typically once I go past five seasons of any show there's no turning back lol. So the questions for me were, can I still enjoy a show when it's fun, even when it is destroying its own continuity in the process? Or can I at least rationalize such a show to myself as an officially-produced non-canon work in order to enjoy it? I stopped taking the show seriously after season five, and now I watch it simply for the humor, action/adventures, flashbacks, monster-of-the-week episodes, and characters.

But it sounds to me like you had enough of the Sam & Dean soap opera show. Do you like the show enough to continue dragging yourself through the muck of bad episodes? If you have enough patience to ride out the bad stretches, then it's worth continuing with the show IMHO because that makes you a fan. If not, then my advice would be to break it to her gently and hightail it out of here before it's too late.

I think it depends on what you watch the show as. It definitely is not the same show that ended after season 5, maybe not even similar to it at all.

It has some nice worldbuilding and manages not to run out of its own scope better than a lot of shows I have seen in that genre lately.
A lot of the plot is driven by the main characters being inexplicably, sometimes even infuriatingly bad at decision-making, but even there, they spend enough time on character development to make those choices seem believable, which is IMO usually reinforced by decent acting. And for all it's worth, it does move the plot along.

If you go in expecting a similar appeal to what it used to have, you will most likely hate the last 10 seasons. Hell, even I think it kept getting progressively worse for a really long time.
At some point, however, they seemed to have found a new direction they wanted to take it in and did just that, and it made for a relatively solid show on its own ever since.

The last season, so far, seems to be well on its way to be a good conclusion to that.
If you do not like the new direction... season 5 had what served as a great conclusion for the show as well.
