From creator Liz Feldman, the Dead to Me TV show is an original dark comedy with a side order of trauma. The story centers on Jen (Applegate), a recently widowed woman who is desperate to solve the mystery behind the hit-and-run murder of her husband.

When Jen decides to attend a “Friends of Heaven” grief support group, she meets Judy (Cardellini), a free-spirited earth child. Where Judy is sweet and optimistic, Jen is something of a sardonic skeptic, but still, the women bond and form a friendship founded on grief, wine, cookies, and a fondness for The Facts of Life.

Despite the disapproval and concern of friends and family, Jen invites Judy to move into the family’s guest house. While Judy couldn’t be more different from her, she is the only person who doesn’t make Jen feel like she’s failing at everything. The thing is, Judy’s keeping a shocking secret from Jen, which could change everything.

A friend of mines put me on to this and he had nothing but high praises for it. I plan on starting this real soon before plunging into The Good Place. smile

Just finished this! I wasn't sure how it would be going in to it but it was great! Lots of twists and the end of each episode makes you want to watch the next one immediately.

Re: Dead to Me

Thanks, I've just added it to my "maybe" list. smile

Good news? I'm not sure where they'd go with it in a second season, though.

Re: Dead to Me

It gets better after the first ep? Watched part of S01E01, got the whining, depressing vibe and turned it off.

I turned it off after 5 minutes at first but then i went back to it. if you like dark humor and interesting plot twists, i'd say give it 2 episodes

Ha, I was getting ready to post this and saw that you had beat me to it. I just finished watching all 10 eps and it's brilliantly entertaining. I'm thoroughly impressed! I see a couple of ways they can go with this in the second season. smile

Re: Dead to Me

Season 1 was entertaining and I was looking forward to the next season. I started watching season 2 yesterday and I was a little disappointed. It's not the same...

Did anyone watch it? Is it getting any better?

Re: Dead to Me

Yea, Season 2 is not as good as 1.

Not as good, but still worth a watch.  And the way it ends makes me wonder where season 3 is going to go...

The second season definitely needed to be shorter, but the last episode was near perfect in my opinion. big_smile
