Based on the acclaimed art of Swedish artist Stålenhag, Tales from the Loop explores the town and people who live above "The Loop," a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe - making things possible that were previously relegated only to science fiction. In this fantastical, mysterious town, poignant human tales are told that bare universal emotional experiences while drawing on the intrigue of genre storytelling.

Trailer looks very promising! smile

Thanks for the info.  Just checked out the trailer.  Yes, very promising and looks beautifully filmed!

Cool! I've added this to my watchlist and will give it a spin on 4/3.

Re: Tales from the Loop [Sci-Fi, Drama]

I've watched 1x1 today. After the first two minutes I was already pretty sure this would be good! smile And it didn't disappoint. It was a very slow and contemplative episode, it felt like https://next-episode.net/legion plus https://next-episode.net/watchmen minus violence. cool

I'm curious to learn how the time paradox thing will be resolved (or at least explained) in the next episodes. It will probably be totally different, but it totally reminded me of my post here from yesterday. smile

I watched the first one and this series is not for me, I had high hopes but found the acting good but the storyline boring.

It has certainly helped me fall asleep the past 2 nights, I don't think I've made it through 10 minutes yet lol

first one was interesting, the second I switched off.  i might try 03 before dropping it.

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

For me this is what science fiction is all about! I love this series! Reminds me a little bit of The Outer Limits back in nineties.

This show is... interesting.

It never tells more story than it absolutely has to; it does so, however, with some pretty decent work on visuals and sound - do make sure to watch it accordingly.

Despite using the same small-ish pool of characters and locations in pretty much every episode, it still manages to somehow be an anthology series; at the same time, it actually concludes everything somewhat nicely in the end.

This is IMO quite a beautiful piece of art and I would recommend to watch it as such.

Yes, I liked 1x2 much less than 1x1. 1x3 wasn't that great either in the end (although I've enjoyed the whole middle part)... it's almost like they always find a way to (partially) ruin something great with a (way too big) topping of melancholy...

In 1x3, when everything stopped, why was there still wind? Is this a goof or did they just not have the budget to wait for a totally windless day for the outside shots? smile

I agree. smile

Such a beautiful and emotional series! I enjoyed every moment of it! smile

It's placed in a very interesting alternate reality. It reminded me a little of Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams...
