Yes totally agree, for me it was a great episode.

Re: Star Trek: Picard

so we all know  whats going on now. How many think that the Romulans are right and Picard is a doddering old senile fool with woolly ideas, living in a fantasy world? I for one do. It would be a great way to end the series with Picard being creamed

Re: Star Trek: Picard

Well, over the past month i've been watching TNG. I feel like an idiot for not watching it earlier, it's so good! I loved every episode who had focus or development on either: Q, Data, Worf, Picard and even Geordi. Such a great cast I can understand why it has such a dedicated fanbase.

But on the other side it destroys how i see the new Picard show, it went from intriguing to pure misrepresentation.

I see Star Trek: Picard as a different (and smaller) branch of the big Star Trek tree. smile It's no TNG, but it doesn't want to be.

81

Re: Star Trek: Picard

Eh. I think most of it is fine. It does try a bit hard with the long-term drama, but that just seems to be how it works these days. Not having seen the latest episode yet, I think it is finally coming together.

Most old characters are IMO done well. The only character being truly misrepresented is the old man himself.

That, however, is also in character considering they confirmed, on-screen, that he has some kind of brain condition.

Think of the show as having a dementia subplot and it should be fine.

because ST:Picard is so much better.

Re: Star Trek: Picard

so next week is season end. I hope that will be it. dont want this  dragging out any more. It was nice seeing these actors comfortable in their old roles growing old. Should be a swan song to Star Trek and these particular characters. I suspect robot girl will end up like  Data ie the last of her kind

There's going to be a season 2 and supposedly Patrick Stewart wants a 3rd season and then be done with it.

If you really hate a show, always remember that not watching it is an option you have. It might even be the healthier one.

Your prediction there... actually, yeah, that might happen.

So far, I still think the show is overall alright.

It took forever to get started and has its weak spots even now. That, however, I would say about every single Star Trek show's first season, at least since and including TNG. Hell, even the movies.

Seeing more of this will be nice, and after 3 seasons, the old man should retire already anyways.

Spoiler

One thing that bothers me:
They have twice now used the Borg cube for a great "oh crap" moment.

Both times it lasted roughly a minute before it was pretty much immediately taken out of comission again.
Sure hope it'll have its moment in ep 10.

Re: Star Trek: Picard

So they went there. Ok.

But is anyone of youse guys watching Ready Room?

I loved the blooper reel at the end of ep 10 of RR.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

who says I hated it?just a bit slow. Not sure it a good idea to have a 2nd season. Though looking at the end I can see how that is being set up. shame.  nothing wrong with 1 season shows? sad that it looks like becoming "Picards People" a star trek version of Farscape?

Spoiler

I think the writers chickened out of a decent ending and did the typical Hollywood good feeling nonsense. well milk the cow for all its worth they think. The last episode was far too hurried and the Romulans gave up far too easily?

That's alright for "okay" shows, but for great shows I prefer the mental effort (getting to know all the characters, their background, relationships, issues and aspirations, following the story) to pay off over more than just one season. smile

Re: Star Trek: Picard

I was hoping

Spoiler

they'd kill him off, because naming a show about someone who lasts one season and isn't there for any more episodes

would have been hilarious.

Re: Star Trek: Picard

yes I agree. I think they should make alternative endings and you choose the one you prefer

94

Re: Star Trek: Picard

Good God!! I hope they do not make a second series of this dismal insult to Star Trek. I've never liked Patrick Stewart always thought he was, as an actor, more wooden than Marlon Brando who was more wooden than any one of the 50 Oak trees I have growing on my property.
