Or how the Lamp was on in the cave.....I'm fairly sure Holly checked for power on the way in!? Maybe its a supernatural thing!

Given that the 'slave' did everything, it is possible that he dragged some batteries down there to power a lamp. Maybe in addition to a 110 V converter.

Re: The Outsider [Crime, Drama, Mystery]
https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/ … 53869518b6 : [...] it might go beyond the original novel and land a second season, at least according to its showrunner. That would be Richard Price, who spoke to IndieWire about his time with the show, and he had this to say when asked about a potential second season: “It’s like pulling a rabbit out of a glass hat — of course there will be another [if HBO wants one],” Price said. “There’s no such thing as a series that, if it does well, they’re not going to want a second season.” [...] Ratings for The Outsider have been solid, and growing. The show debuted with a 0.7 rating, and has grown nearly every week since, with the only significant dip being during Super Bowl weekend when it went online early and was eclipsed by the game the night of. But last week’s episode? The show has now broken a million live viewers (1.077) with many, many more watching on HBO Go and Now, no doubt (myself included). That’s a signifier of a show that has really hooked people, and I have to say, while my interested started to wane in episode 2, past that, I have been absolutely gripped by it, and the second it’s live on Sunday I am watching it as can’t-miss programming.
"Can't-miss programming", I like that.

Re: The Outsider [Crime, Drama, Mystery]
Nice find, but I believe that ship already sailed long before we made it to port. I'd be surprised if there weren't a second season. The post-credit scene (as well as most of this season) already confirmed that it had every intention of deviating from the realm of the source material and exploring beyond. Richard Price even said that he made every attempt to follow the events of the book, but the issue was ten hours of screen time. By the third hour, he was already halfway through the book and had seven hours to go. A novel is significantly reduced once you strip away all of its narrative observations. There's also the introduction of characters, characterization changes, setting changes, pacing, situations, minor events, and entirely new storylines that didn't exist in the source material. ▼Spoiler What occurred in the post-credit scene is not what happened in the Stephen King novel. In the book, Ralph and Holly killed El Cuco in the cave and looked poised to live happily ever after; no narrated scratches on Holly in the end. lighton wrote:▼Spoiler I just don't understand how Holly Gibney got that scratch on her right arm...
▼Spoiler Ha, and neither does the rest of the world... But if you think about it, with the amount of physical exertion that Holly and Ralph go through in the finale—from being shot at to taking on El Cuco in a cave, and having that cave partially collapse in on them—there are plenty of opportunities for Holly to have been scratched by something that wasn't supernatural. Ralph, for example, had a scratch on his face after the events in the cave, but no one seems to be talking about it. Why? Because it wasn't the focal point of a post-credit scene. Don't forget, prior to that, during her convo with Ralph, Holly had inexplicably asked "Who's Terry" in the cave—the real Holly, or the unaffected Holly, obviously knows who Terry is. Holly was also listening to music in the end, which we were told she never does, and, wait for it... it was also the same song that Ralph mentioned was on when his son was born, and his mom died. Some believe (myself included) that there is more than one El Cuco. When Holly left Ralph and said she needed to make a few stops before going back to Chicago, we don't know what she did during that time. That would've been a convenient time for her to get scratched before she made it home. Maybe this is what the post-credit scene showed us? Or maybe, in the end, all of this was meant to be ambiguous for discussion points? Case in point lol... It can end there or open up the possibility of a second season at the time it was written. Maybe we'll find out next season? Speaking of which, some believe that King’s upcoming novella If It Bleeds is the key to a second season of The Outsider. That doesn't necessarily mean the showrunners have to follow it religiously if the show is renewed. Making further changes could free the writers up to create something that flows much better moving forward. Only time will tell.

The Outsider (Season 1) was such a great series, a real shame it wasn't renewed - one can only hope for a change of heart! https://next-episode.net/the-outsider

Yes, loved it! P.S.: I moved your post into the Outsider thread. The Outsider posts only in the show's thread please.
