Carnival Row is a fantasy-noir set in a neo-Victorian city. Mythical creatures fleeing their war-torn homeland have gathered in the city, and tensions are simmering between citizens and the growing immigrant population. We follow the investigation of a string of unsolved murders which are eating away at whatever uneasy peace still exists.

Carnival Row - - it's a keeper...

Re: Carnival Row

Went into this expecting it to be boring and/or not good.

I was wrong. Very wrong.

Yes.

Re: Carnival Row

It has a vibe similar to "The Alienist" series last year.

4

Re: Carnival Row

Yes a good series even my wife is enjoying it one more to go.

Re: Carnival Row

Yes, it's good - I was slightly disappointed because I had expected "great"! big_smile Looking forward to the following episodes.

Re: Carnival Row

Just watched an episode of this, looks like they have kind of some dark horror vibe planned.

Should be great!

Re: Carnival Row

Just heard it got picked up for a Season 2...

Re: Carnival Row

Just finished the first season. Quality show. Great locations (both real and studio)! Felt like 1850 London from a parallel universe. smile

8/10

Re: Carnival Row

It had a rocky start, for me, but it picked up and I liked it over-all... I'd be happy to see a second season.

Re: Carnival Row

I just  started to watch this. Ripper Street with fairy folk and jack the hammer  rather than jack the ripper? Oh and bare breasted  fairy prostitutes who tend to fly  when they get excited ( lol ). Very high production  values. Is this meant to be Ripper Street in a parallel universe?

Re: Carnival Row

There's a Jack the Ripper subplot, yes, but the show would be good even without knowing anything about Jack the Ripper. smile

well so far I think its a rip off of Ripper Street

Re: Carnival Row

Based on the trailer, Ripper Street has no fantasy and less or no sex... the Ripper story has been around for ages, so I wouldn't call Carnival Row a rip-off.

Yes, since 1888, when the murders happened!  smile

2020.  Meh.

Please discuss Ripper Street in that show's thread: https://forum.next-episode.net/viewtopi … 86#p164186

Just finished up 2x9. You're right.. big_smile  the term "blood & Guts" couldn't be applied much more literally than S2.

Well unless ep10 finishes with some piss poor excuse of an ending, I'm about to rate this no less than a 9/10. Not simply for this reason but, I think the budget was feature film like.

Sadly it did end with a pisspoor excuse of an ending but the show was very good.
