‘Insatiable’ Canceled By Netflix After Two SeasonsThere will be no third season for Insatiable. Netflix has canceled the dark, twisted revenge comedy starring Debby Ryan, Dallas Roberts, and Alyssa Milano after two seasons. Milano revealed the cancellation decision to a fan on Twitter earlier this month. Today, she posted an update, thanking fans. Insatiable started as a 2017 CW pilot before landing a Netflix series order. The news of its demise comes on the heels of Netflix also canceling another series that had originated as a busted broadcast pilot, Soundtrack, after one season, as the streamer seems to be pulling away from that business model. Netflix also pulled the plug on Designated Survivor after producing one additional season beyond the series’ two that had been originally made for ABC. On the bright side, Netflix is in talks for another installment of Lucifer beyond its upcoming fifth and “final” season.

‘Bosch’ Renewed For 7th & Final Season By AmazonBosch is getting an early renewal and an end date. Amazon has picked up a seventh and final season of its hit drama series starring Titus Welliver and based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling books. The renewal comes ahead of Bosch’s sixth-season premiere later in 2020 on Amazon Prime Video. “I’m proud of what we have accomplished with Bosch and look forward to completing the story in Season 7. It’s bittersweet, but all good things come to an end, and I am happy that we will be able to go out the way we want to,” said Connelly.

‘Atypical’ Renewed For Fourth & Final Season By NetflixNetflix has ordered a 10-episode fourth season of Atypical. It will be the final chapter for the critically praised series from creator/executive producer Robia Rashid and director/executive producer Seth Gordon. The renewal comes almost four months after the release of the show’s third season. And the new fourth and final season won’t premiere until 2021. While never a runaway hit or an awards juggernaut, the Peabody Award-nominated Atypical successfully straddled both worlds, with respectable viewership (based on the snippets of ratings data released by Netflix), devoted fan following and solid critical acclaim. Of the dozens of original comedy series Netflix has released over the past five years, only a handful have reached four seasons. Atypical joins a very short list that also includes Grace and Frankie, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Fuller House and The Ranch.

Great but damnit, not good enough. I want 10 more seasons. 10! Sources say the decision to ax the show was made for political reasons amid the recent merger between CBS, which owns Showtime, and Viacom.

Sanditon's fate confirmed by ITVITV won't be bringing back Sanditon for a second series, the broadcaster confirmed earlier today (December 11). The eight-part drama, based on Jane Austen's unfinished novel of the same name, sadly didn't get the green light to finish the story of Austen's heroic character Charlotte Heywood. The cancellation was confirmed by Radio Times, with an ITV spokesperson telling the publication: "We loved Sanditon and we were very proud to have it on ITV. "We would have loved it to return, but unfortunately we just didn't get the audience that would make that possible for us, which is heartbreaking for everybody involved in this wonderful adaptation."
Source Super sad about this news... Sanditon was a fantastic edition to the Austen small-screen pantheon

Source THIS, I am disgusted with! Insatiable was, by far, the best (truly) ORIGINAL NETFLIX series I had the pleasure to watch and Debby (Patty) Ryan was freakin' amazing! This show was both entertaining and nuanced in ways few others, today, have been. We've all pretty much known that NETFLIX exc's have had as much original thinking as the average TV Network exc but this is has me suspecting they don't even have a brain-cell between 'em ;\

I didn't find Insatiable interesting enough to watch, I guess it just didn't attract enough viewers. And I disagree, Netflix takes more risks compared to some other companies.

Well, we'll never know as NETFLIX doesn't release their numbers... that being as it is I didn't say they didn't take risks with new programming, but they what don't do is give series a chance to build a viewership. They cut and run way too easily. And some of the best series, series that became cult phenomenons, have had slow build-up. In my opinion NETFLIX cancels series waaaay too soon, in fact here's an article about the trend: https://deadline.com/2019/03/netflix-tv … 202576297/

In terms of the top 7 most-watched titles in Netflix history, here they are: 6 Underground – 83 million views* Bird Box – 80 million views Murder Mystery – 73 million views The Witcher – 72 million views* You (Season 2) – 54 million views* Triple Frontier – 52 million views The Perfect Date – 48 million views Tall Girl – 41 million views
wow. I dont have Netflix and am out of the loop, but I've never even heard of a single one of those titles let alone seen any of them.

Hawaii Five-0 Ending With Season 10; Two-Hour Series Finale to Air in AprilThe sun is setting on Hawaii Five-0. The CBS procedural’s current 10th season will be its last, TVLine has learned. A two-hour series finale will air Friday, April 3 at 8/7c. “It’s never easy to say goodbye to a hit franchise that carried on the legacy of the original with such distinction, while establishing its own signature style,” said Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment, in a statement. “From episode one, Hawaii Five-0 has been a huge success for us. Thanks to the amazing talents of the producers, writers, cast and crew, it has played a key role for a decade on our schedule and helped establish our powerhouse Friday night. We cannot be prouder of its quality and longevity and are thankful for the passionate fan devotion it inspired.” [...] H50 this season is averaging just north of 7 million total viewers (in Live+Same Day numbers), ranking fourth among CBS dramas (behind NCIS, FBI and Friday titan Blue Bloods). Its 0.7 demo rating meanwhile trails those same three dramas plus the recently ended Criminal Minds.

Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2023-24 Season
gave it a go for a few episodes but really just in morbid fascination at the punishing perfection of the main couple. So utterly, utterly flawless. I ended up just watching in the vain hope that one of them unveils a horrific character flaw or casual predilection for some shocking hobby, a gimp in the basement, or bumpicking on the bus, or something. Gimme something! Handsome Dad is an ex-fighter pilot who became a University Professor as well as being a teen mag heart throb. Beautiful Mum is ex-CIA then became University Professor then Secretary of State. Meanwhile, Mum has arms (triceps, woah) and a general bod that looks like about 10 hours a week of intense gym work. I'm sure people like this do actually exist but wft ffs

Re: Ending or Canceled TV Shows for the 2023-24 Season
‘The Magicians’ To End With Current Season 5 On SyfyThe end is just around the corner for The Magicians. The current fifth season of the fantasy drama series will be its last; the April 1 Season 3 finale will serve as series finale. Created by John McNamara and Sera Gamble based on Lev Grossman’s novels, The Magicians for years was Syfy’s top series. Creators/executive producers McNamara and Gamble have served as showrunners of The Magicians since Day one; at the start of Season 5, fellow exec producer Henry Alonso Myers was named co-showrunner alongside them. While they did not go into Season 5 knowing that it would definitely will be the show’s final chapter, I hear they wrote the Season 5 finale so it could also work as a series finale. “The Magicians has been a part of our Syfy family for five fantastic seasons,” Syfy said in a statement to Deadline “As we near the end of this journey, we want to thank John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Henry Alonso Myers, Lev Grossman, and our entire brilliant cast, crew, writers and directors for their beautiful creation. But most of all, we thank the fans for their tremendous support and passion. Because of you, magic will be in our hearts forever.” In its current fifth season, The Magicians has been averaging 881,000 Live+7 total viewers, 415,000 of them in the adults 18-49 demographic. While that is still healthy for a basic cable series among declining linear ratings, it is half of the viewership The Magicians delivered in its first two seasons. The combination of lower ratings and rising costs was reportedly a factor in the cancellation decision.

So there seems to have been a big Save Sanditon Campaign which has popped up ever since it's last episode aired in the US. Though there had been as a strong contingent in the UK ever since news broke. The Sanditon support has even been trending on social media as well as having the distinction of 3 different change.org petitions that, collectively, seem well on to 50,000 signature. PBS even did a special about Sanditon. For some more details on this you can read this piece https://www.spoilertv.com/2020/02/save- … diton.html and/or even join the Sanditon Facebook groups (like I did). #SaveSanditon

I have The Magicians on my watchlist and I have plans on watching the series one day. I also wish the best of luck to all the Sandition fans out there in their campaign to save the show. I don't follow the series, but I am all too familiar with the rollercoaster ride of trying to save a beloved show.

Lost in Space: Season Three; Netflix Series Renewed for Final SeasonThe journey of The Robinson family isn’t over just yet. Netflix has announced that the Lost in Space TV series has been renewed for a third, albeit final, season. The new episodes are expected to be released in 2021. [...] In a statement, showrunner Zack Estrin wrote, “From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy,” Estrin said. “A three-part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle, and end. It’s also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode — if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission — it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith… and The Robot. And, of course, Debbie the Chicken. So while this chapter of Lost In Space is coming to a rousing conclusion, I’m excited about continuing to explore new stories with my friends at Netflix, and for all of the incredible possibilities that lie ahead.”

'V-Wars' and 'October Faction' Canceled at Netflix (Exclusive)Both dramas, produced by IDW Entertainment, ran for only one season on the streamer. Fresh off of Locke & Key's renewal, the streamer has opted to cancel its two remaining comic-inspired shows from the publisher as both V-Wars and October Faction will not move forward. V-Wars and October Faction both ran for one season each after launching Dec. 5 and Jan. 23, respectively. The cancellations arrive as Netflix, which does not release viewership, continues to make renewal and cancellation decisions based on its internal data. The streamer reviews the returns and considers if the financial investment in another season will be valuable to its subscribers or if those funds would be better served with new content that draws more signups to its service. V-Wars and October Faction become the latest one-and-done dramas at Netflix, joining recently canceled series including Messiah, AJ and the Queen, Spinning Out, Soundtrack and Daybreak, among others.

Thanks for sharing. October Faction was merely "ok", with a wobbly story and some wooden acting. I'll also post in the V Wars thread.
