Topic: Season 15

It seems the Brothers Winchester will be taking exit 15. Today, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins released a video confirming that the 15th season of Supernatural will also be its final outing. That’s right; it’s official. The Supernatural TV show on The CW will end with season 15. Fans who have been with it from the beginning may remember sweating out the “cancellation or renewal” question every spring in the show’s early years and marvel that we’ve come this far in a black 1967 Chevy Impala.

Let's take this moment to take it all in and reflect as we prepare to gear up one last time with the Winchesters as they embark on their final journey this coming fall. smile

Re: Season 15

I wonder if they will give a spin off series a 3rd try?

Re: Season 15

I'm amazed how writers have managed to beat this dead horse for so long, I got tired in the middle of the season 9, tho I'm planning to watch it to the end someday big_smile Right now I have 114 unwatched Supernatural episodes, I assume they have flying cars by season 13 big_smile

This, imo, is the most epic scene from Supernatural

It's very possible showrunners Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer are testing a possible spin-off. Supernatural has attempted this twice, first with the universally panned episode "Bloodlines," which set up a West Side Story–esque plot between the vampire and werewolf clans of Chicago. Then again, in season 13, with the epic "Wayward Sisters" episode, which brought together a group of female hunters Sam and Dean have met throughout the series. Although beloved by fans and critics, The CW declined to pick it up for a full series.

The third attempt will either be a charm or a collective strikeout.

Jeez, you better get a move on before we really do have autonomous flying cars in our everyday life. big_smile

Exactly like me, i also stopped watching Supernatural in season 9 (ep 13) and still plan to watch the rest someday.

I heard on Netflix they used different music for Supernatural (atleast for season 1/2), which would be a pitty.

Re: Season 15

The music from the first season is different due to licensing issues. In season ten, all recaps that play before episodes were edited from the Netflix versions, without explanation from Netflix. Supernatural originally aired on The WB back in '05, and following The WB's merger with UPN in '06, it continued to air on the new network, The CW.

The cool thing is that the Supernatural Wiki has an extensive list of every song associated with the series. In regards to the first season, it'll list the original songs as well as the Netflix versions.

That explains it, so Wayward Son which is the unofficial theme song of Supernatural gets atleast played in the later seasons on Netflix then and is not removed entirely, that's good to hear.

Re: Season 15

The cast and creators teased details for the final season during this year's Comic-Con.

I'd actually say it kept getting worse until ~S11.
After that I think they managed to pull it up to a fairly decent quality again, where it has been going steady ever since. At some point they apparently just started throwing any idea they could come up with at the wall to see how it would work out and, maybe a few mishaps aside, they managed to actually get in quite a few more entertaining storylines.

Re: Season 15

Well, an interesting start to the final season so far. I liked 15x01 a lot more than 15x02. The season premiere was well-balanced, more entertaining, and much better written IMO. The highlight for me in 15x02 was the backhanded compliment to Game of Thrones delivered by none other than...

+ show spoiler

Chuck (aka God) when he visits his sister Amara (aka Darkness) and tries to convince her into helping him travel between worlds. Yes, apparently, God needs some assistance. Chuck/God begins to make small talk by starting with the infamous conversation killer - the final season of GoT. Apparently, the Lord Almighty was a big fan, claiming the ending was "pretty great" and, on the surface at least, this is undoubtedly a compliment. However, IMO, since Chuck/God is so often portrayed as the failed writer type, his acclaim for the final season of GoT is likely intended more as banter than anything else.

Game of Thrones' most significant problem was that the finale season lacked the required amount of episodes to do the story justice (thnx again D&D). Supernatural, on the other hand, has more than enough installments remaining to deliver a satisfying final season. At least in theory, as time will tell. So in the meantime, it's time for Eric Kripke & Co. to walk the walk.
