Yeah I'm really looking forward to this! Super disappointed when they moved it back to next year for release.

Re: Star Trek: Picard
From https://screenrant.com/star-trek-picard … hugh-borg/ :
[...] Along with those franchise heavyweights, however, was the announcement that Jonathan Del Arco will also be returning as Hugh, the liberated Borg drone who was the focal point of two of The Next Generation's best episodes. Hugh's return is loaded with philosophical and emotional resonance for Star Trek fans, as he was the one avenue through which TNG could ever find a way to empathize with the nightmarish Borg. [...] No matter what life has been like for Hugh and his collective, when Star Trek: Picard releases, it will finally give an answer fans have been waiting for since 1993.
Cool. I liked the Borg as a worthy opponent, curious to see how 2019 CGI will make them/their ships look.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Star Trek: Picard
In what will bring great joy to fans of the once Next Generation captain and surprise to almost no one in Hollywood, Star Trek: Picard has been given the green light for a second season before its series debut next month. Like the first season that will premiere on CBS All Access on January 23, Season 2 of the Patrick Stewart-led Picard looks to be a 10-episode order for the streamer. As a part of that second season, the latest venture in the Alex Kurtzman marshaled Trekverse has been allocated over $20.4 million in California tax incentives.

Re: Star Trek: Picard
01/23/20 can't get here soon enough! Picard is coming to the small screen soon. The series is set to premiere on CBS All Access in January, and a new trailer has been released for the upcoming Star Trek series. The trailer aired during NFL football, and it shows off more of Jean-Luc Picard’s former crew. Fans see more of Troi and Riker, who are played by Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis. Patrick Stewart plays Jean-Luc Picard on the new CBS All Access series, and he goes to his former crew members for advice on the situation he finds himself in. It has been known both Frakes and Sirtis would appear on the new series, and this teaser, shared by Trek Movie, shows them off. They are together and living their post-Starfleet lives. Check out the new trailer for Star Trek: Picard below. The series arrives on January 23.

Re: Star Trek: Picard
I hope they give this decent actor more meat to get his teeth into than the old star trek did?

I cannot open that link for the trailer so I found a trailer on youtube here If they are the same then I'll delete the link. This is looking so good and so many familiar faces are going to be in it, it's going to be great.

A hint for everyone not following https://next-episode.net/star-trek-short-treks closely: Picard appeared (on a screen) in episode 2x6, "Children of Mars".

A really good episode even! Judging by that teaser it seems to set up some event that will be relevant to the new show already and really manages to set a tone there. And yes, the first teaser seems to be geoblocked with some copyright explanation. Quite nastily so. Why would anybody put restrictions on an advertisement?! Edit: This seems to be the one in question?

I found this short to be a simple story that used visual storytelling, in combination with the soundtrack, extremely well. This is my favorite short of the second season of Short Treks. Great acting by the two girls with their antagonistic behavior as it's being relayed through a musical montage. ▼Spoiler So it seems as if the devastating attack that Picard seems to have been in charge of recovery for wasn't the Hobus supernova. It was an attack on Mars by "rogue synths", according to the newsreel at the bottom of the news screens. 3,000 estimated dead. This does set the tone indeed and it definitely has piqued my interest. It will be interesting to see where Kima and Lil's story picks up in Picard, or if these two characters were one-off appearances simply designed to portray the devastating turn of events. I'm leaning towards the latter.
